Vs. Castlevania Emerges From The Lost Catacombs

Hamster Co. has been doing great work converting both classic and obscure arcade titles to the Nintendo Switch. More recently they’ve been resurrecting Nintendo’s little-known “Vs” series of arcade cabinets. Between the days of direct arcade involvement (Donkey Kong, Punch-Out) and passive bone-throwing (Playchoice 10, Super System) we got a hybrid of sorts where the company would release “arcade” versions of upcoming NES games to test them in the market.

Arcade Archives: Track & Field Released For Switch

Japanese studio HAMSTER’s Arcade Archives series is a true godsend. Every month or so they resurrect an arcade title from the brink, clean it up and make it purchasable for cheap on the Switch. Arcade Archives was the series that brought back the original Donkey Kong arcade game for the first time since it was actually sold as one (every port since has been an alteration of some kind). HAMSTER even resurrected the lost Nintendo arcade game Sky Skipper, tested in Japan and never released in the US.
