Adrift VR to be Timed Exclusive for Oculus Rift
In a post on developer Three One Zero’s official website, the company performed that the new first-person survival game Adrift will only be available with VR support through the Oculus Rift next month. However, it will only be exclusively supported through the rift temporarily, and it’s likely the game will receive more VR support later on. Per the website, “We just aren’t ready to make any announcements about them yet. Soon!” The game is set to launch next month for Oculus Rift and Steam. However, the game will not be supported by Steam VR and platforms like HTC Vive. Three One Zero’s Adam Orth commented on the issue, saying: “Adrift doesn’t currently support Steam VR because we are working with and supporting Oculus and their entry into the marketplace. We’ve been working closely with Oculus for most of the development of Adrift and we want to support them as partners because we love them, their hardware, and their vision for VR.
