Nintendo Explains Mobile Gaming Initiative Due to Platform's Undeniable Popularity
Nintendo is a lot of things, one that many think is a negative is that they can be really rigid in their beliefs. One such belief was that they would never “have the need” to do mobile gaming, as their handhelds have been mega hits every single time along with consoles. However, this all changed when Nintendo partnered up with DeNA to kickstart a new mobile game initiative. So why the change of heart? While they may not be moving away from the console and handheld market, the popularity of the mobile market can’t be denied, as Nintendo of America executive Scott Moffit told Examiner: “We can’t deny the massive install base of smartphones out there, and some fans that aren’t old enough yet to afford their own gaming console, perhaps for those consumers they can start to appreciate some of our content and build a relationship with some of our characters and our franchises.
