Surprise Nintendo Direct Micro Reveals Much Information!
In a surprise to many, Nintendo let loose a special “Nintendo Direct Micro” to fill in gamers on some titles that were upcoming, as well reveal some information about titles already released. Here’s the breakdown!
As was revealed in the recent Japanese Nintendo Direct, a new Chibi Robo game is coming. But now, we have confirmation that the title is coming west! Chibi Robo: Zip Lash will feature the little robot in a side-scrolling adventure where you will use his attached plug as a whip and grapple to get through the world, solve puzzles, and beat enemies. Also revealed in the Japanese Nintendo Direct was the fact that a Chibi Robo amiibo was coming as well. But now, we know it’s coming EXCLUSIVELY via a bundle with Chibi Robo. The game is scheduled for release in October.
Next up was the reveal of Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure! An exclusive Nintendo eShop title for the 3DS. In it, you’ll be able to play as both Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi in classic Dr. Mario style gameplay. But wait! There’s more! A new item called the Miracle Cure adds a new level of depth to the title, giving you abilities such as wiping out all blocks of a single cover, destroying entire row, and more! This game comes equipped with a co-op mode, local and global multiplayer, download play, and more! You can pre-purchase Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure now, and own it on June 11th.
Following that came the reveal of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s literally being called the “ultimate” version of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. Mainly because EVERY Pokemon, both common and legendary, are in the game. And there will apparently be a LOT to do. The game will release this winter.
For all you artists out there, Nintendo has revealed an addition to the Wii U’s Art Academy. Art Academy: Home Studio adds a big update to the title, both in the content you can draw, the things you can draw with, new lessons to refine your skills, and new ways to upload your work to both Miiverse and Youtube. For the latter, you’l actually be able to release a time-lapse video showing how your art piece came together. Cool huh? You can pre-purchase it now, and get it fully on the Wii U eShop on June 25.
Little Battlers Experience, a title based off of the anime that launched last year and toyline of the same name, is getting a full-on 3DS game. Much like in the show, you’ll be able to customize your LBX with hundreds of different parts, and battle numerous enemies. The game will launch August 21st.
The Puzzle and Dragon combo game, which featured the main title and a Super Mario version, is getting some updates as well. If you beat the story mode in either version, you’ll actually unlock massive new dungeons for you to explore, each with new characters you can add to your team. For the Mario version, that includes Rosalina, Peach, Bowser, the Koopalings, and more!
Finally, Bravely Second, the sequel to Bravely Default, is indeed coming west. In it you’ll play as a new character, but many of the original characters from Bravely Default will be there as well. The title is set to arrive on 3DS in 2016.
