Suicide Squad: New Footage of the SDCC VR Experience
Samsung and Warner Bros. created a special virtual reality experience for the Suicide Squad lounge that attendees can check out at Comic-Con. A new behind-the-scenes video was released showing exactly how this amazing VR experience for the San Diego Comic-Con was constructed, which you can check out in the player below.
The video features new footage of the VR experience plus some raw footage showing exactly how it was made. It was an interesting and complex camera setup. Basically, the VR experience puts viewers right in the middle of a fight scene with Task Force X and what appear to be infected or slimy minions or creatures. It seems the bad guys in Suicide Squad are some sort of viral or perhaps even an alien infection that takes over others. The infection or whatever the organism is takes the form of a black, patterned growth. It almost looks like black algae growing from what appear to be victims who were previously human beings.
On Saturday at the San Diego Comic-Con, film stars Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Will Smith (Deadshot), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) and the cast from the film attended the lounge and met with fans at the Samsung Experience for Suicide Squad. VR technology is fun to create these types of experiences so far, so it will be interesting to see if the gaming industry can produce other experiences that exploit the benefits of VR tech.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on Friday, August 5.
