Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Annual Coming In December
For a while now, IDW has been publishing Star Wars: The High Republic, one of the earliest-set storylines in the SW galaxy. It takes place hundreds of years before the original trilogy or the prequel trilogy, during the peak era of the Galactic Republic. The comic has had several writers, but in IDW’s upcoming annual, they will be united in one book for the first time.
Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott and Charles Soule will all have feature stories in Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Annual #1, and their takes will be illustrated by the likes of Sam Beck, Jesse Lonegran, Jason Loo, Yael Nathan and Stefano Simeone.
“This project is exceptionally cool because it has the whole team together in one place, doing what we love – telling stories of this amazing new era in the galaxy far, far away,” says Older. “For my part, I’m thrilled to introduce readers to a few characters that we’ll be learning more about in my upcoming work.” Editor Heather Antos adds “The High Republic is such a unique landscape in Star Wars history – both canonically and in media storytelling — and being able to collaborate with all the story architects for their first collaboration in a single book has been amazing. This is a comic any Star Wars fan simply can’t miss.”
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Annual #1 will be 48 pages long and will see release this coming December wherever comics are sold, from IDW.
