Star Wars: The Force Awakens International Trailer Reveals New Footage
If the last trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was not nearly enough to to satiate your Star Wars mania, Pop Geeks might have just the ticket for you. The Japanese Disney YouTube channel has just released a brand-new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens! You can check out the video, featuring loads of new footage from the highly anticipated sequel, below.
There is a lot more dialogue and eye-popping visuals here. Finn actually reveals his name to Rey. Rey converses with BB-8 offering hints of her background, saying she “knows about waiting.” It seems BB-8 asks who she is waiting for, and Rey simply responds, “My family.” There has been plenty of speculation about Rey’s background. Could she in fact be a lost member of the Skywalker bloodline? There is another shot of what appears to be Chewbacca detonating a bomb of enemy forces. There’s a somewhat beautiful and rather sinister image of tie fighters silhouetted against the sunset of Jakku. Of course, there’s the ominous shot of the villainous Kylo Ren holding his lightsaber up to Rey’s neck. This is simply a more robust trailer.
I suppose when J.J. Abrams said there would be no more trailers for the film, he did not really take into account Disney Japan releasing basically a brand new trailer that features lots of new footage in November. Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on December 18.
