Star Wars: The Force Awakens Gets Its First Official TV Spot
If all that delicious new footage from the recently released international trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was not enough for you, you may be in luck. The first official Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot has just dropped online, courtesy of Twitter. This video features even more juicy, brand-new footage, and you can check out the first TV spot for the highly anticipated sequel in the player below.
The trailer features some new voice-over from the Lupita Nyong’o character, who is believed to be named Maz Kanata. She states, “I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes.” Is Maz speaking about Daisy Ridley’s Rey? It sure seems that way based on the footage. The promo spot features a nice montage of action clips. There’s a new shot of Han Solo in some Hoth-esque winter gear. One can assume that scene is meant to take place where the First Order’s wintry mountain base is set up. There is a shot of Rey in action, taking down an enemy with her staff. She also says, “Follow me,” when helping Finn up to his feet. There’s also more footage of the Millenium Falcon in action, outrunning Tie Fighters. There’s some more clips of Poe Dameron and the X-Wing dog fights with other Tie ships. With all this new footage, some keen fans could probably put together some fun fan-edited trailers.
With December right around the corner, the marketing blitz for Episode VII of the Star Wars franchise is going to continue to heat up. So there should definitely be some more TV spots on the way. Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters on December 18 in the US and December 17 in Europe and Australia.
