Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm have released a new clip featuring the first official look at deleted scenes from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. You can check out the new clip in the player below. Fortunately, fans are going to finally have access to this material when the film arrives on Blu-ray next month.
The most intriguing clip is the footage of Kylo Ren searching the Millennium Falcon, after the heroes have arrived on Starkiller Base. Knowing Kylo Ren’s background, it’s got to be a pretty emotional moment for him. There is some more footage showing some Stormtroopers attacking Maz Kanata’s joint, but then they arrive in the basement while the heroes are still inside. So it looks like Han Solo, Rey, Chewie and Maz have no way out. It’s great that this footage is finally coming out, and fans will finally get a deeper look at some scenes that did not make it into the film’s final cut. Obviously, the scenes were cut for a reason, but it’s still nice to have access to the footage.
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens will be available on Digital HD on April 1. The film will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack on April 5.
