Star Wars RPG Gains Force And Destiny, And Sentinels
If I asked you what Sentinels are, you would probably say “the giant robots that hunt down mutants in the Marvel Universe,” unaware there’s an even geekier, more obscure answer to that. Sentinels are also the name of a rogue group of Jedi who secretly fight for justice on an Empire-controlled planet in the Star Wars RPG game.
And now you can play as one. Star Wars Force and Destiny: Endless Vigil is the name of a new sourcebook that tells you everything you need to know. For one thing, Sentinels are usually broke and can’t just buy a lightsaber — they have to make them. Being a Sentinel in an urban setting changes a lot of other rules too.
Endless Vigil features three new species and three new Sentinel specializations. It includes an entire chapter on bringing urban environments to life in your games, from new ways to resolve dice results to starter ideas for investigative campaigns.
Two Sentinel specializations—Artisans and Racers—are particularly involved with technology. Artisans use the Force to create works of extraordinary excellence, anything from clever droids to elegant force-imbued fabrics. Racers use the Force to move fast, steer vehicles, take daring shortcuts, and stay alive.
Endless Vigil provides tools to help Game Masters manage contact networks. Every network has a different scope and expertise: the one in your game could span an entire world and comprise cartel bosses, academics, Rebellion operatives, and/or farm workers. You’ll need at least one “face” of the network whom your PCs can negotiate with, persuade or interrogate to get what they need. You may link your PCs to them through the narrative, or introduce a contact network as a reward.
Endless Vigil is available now from Fantasy Flight Games.
