Star Wars Celebration: New Details on Event
Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm recently revealed some special information for the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event. This year’s convention is set to be held in Orlando, Florida. As this year is 2017, it actually marks the 40th anniversary of the original release for the first movie, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which was first released in theaters in May 1977. As a result, the convention this year will kick off with a special epic tribute to the Star Wars Saga’s 40th Anniversary.
This will be featured in a panel hosted by Star Wars franchise actor Warwick Davis. It will also feature Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and discussions with some of the Star Wars franchise’s biggest stars. The panel will overall showcase the impact of the Star Wars Saga and the fandom that has put the franchise on the map over the course of the last 40 years. In Lucasfilm’s official announcement on the panel, some special surprises are also being hinted at. The panel will be held on the first day of the convention, which is Thursday, April 13.
The surprises so far definitely sound exciting. Star Wars Celebration is set for Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center. The event will run from April 13-16.
