Star Wars Battlefront: The Battle of Jakku Gameplay Premiering Live From London
Electronic Arts has officially announced that the gameplay video of the first DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, The Battle of Jakku, is set to premiere later tonight with Star Wars Battle Front – Battle of Jakku: Live from London. The gameplay video will be streamed live on the EA Star Wars Twitch Channel. The game will start streaming at 11 am PST / 2PM EST.
The gameplay footage will showcase two maps set on Jakku and showcase the debut of a new gameplay mode for Star Wars Battlefront, which is called Turning Point. Turning Point is described as “a vast game mode for 40 players.”
The Battle of Jakku DLC is a set around a key battle in the Star Wars Universe that takes place in between Return of the Jedi and the upcoming sequel, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The battle is set 29 years before the events of the new film, in the aftermath of the Rebel Alliance victory in the Battle of Endor. The New Republic is now confronting key Imperial holdouts on the remote desert planet of Jakku.
The Star Wars Battlefront: The Battle of Jakku DLC arrives on December 1 to players who pre-ordered a copy of the game. It will be available as a digital download for everyone else on December 8. And from there, the new Star Wars sequel, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, finally arrives in theaters on December 18. You can also check out a new screenshot from the DLC released by EA below.
