Star Wars Battlefront Developer Video Series Episode One Debuts Online
GameStop released a new special developer video blog for the highly anticipated new Star Wars video game Star Wars Battlefront. The game was officially unveiled last weekend at Star Wars Celebration 2015, and it appears DICE has a really impressive reboot on their hands for the Battlefront franchise. The new developer video diary is available in the player below.
In the new video, Design Director Niklas Fegraeus stresses the authenticity of the game in having access to the Lucasfilm archives to achieve a high level of painstaking detail. In addition, the staff scouted actual locations to use as reference for the game. One reveal from the video is that there will be split-screen, side-by-side, two-player co-op gameplay. It looks like with the power of the Frostbite engine, DICE will be able to pull off some realistic, authentic Star Wars battle that drop players into the thick of the action.
Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled for a November 17 release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The first DLC expansion, The Battle of Jakku, will be available on December 8. The DLC is based on the upcoming sequel, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and players who pre-order the game will get first crack at the DLC on December 1. In the Battle of Jakku, players get to experience a pivotal moment when the New Republic is confronted by key Imperial holdouts on a remote desert planet in the Outer Rim.
