Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Surprise Trailer Hit Today
A new trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse just showed up in the middle of the night. No other articles seem to be written about it yet, because I’m the only one up who can do it — at 1:55 AM on the West Coast. Presenting a POPGEEKS EXCLUSIVE, at least until somebody from a larger website gets out of bed…
Miles Morales’ grades are slipping. He actually got a B in one subject! His parents are shocked. But Miles can’t tell either of them what’s been taking up all his time, especially his cop dad who’s on the lookout for a vigilante hero in a web-themed outfit.
He’s about to have even less time to devote to his studies once Spider-Gwen shows up and introduces him to The Lobby, the interdimensional hole where all Spider-Men from all dimensions cross over to hang out. Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, set up the whole thing, turns out. We got a few new bits of information with this trailer no one knew about.
Paunchy Peter B. Parker from the first movie is back — and not alone! He reproduced with MJ and now there’s Mayday — an awesome nod to Marvel’s Spider-Girl comic from the late 90s and early 2000s. We also finally got a scene with The Spot, after being promised he’d show up months ago. He’s great.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse stars the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, and Issa Rae, among many others, and opens June 2 in theaters. It’s gonna rule.
