Sony Announces Big Playstation 5 Presentation For June 4
Tired of waiting for Sony to reveal anything about the Playstation 5 beyond its weird controller? So is everyone else, with the possible exception of Microsoft, who has only been happy to fill the media vacuum with plenty of footage from their competing console. Fortunately, if a new announcement is legit, the secrecy is about to end. We will find out everything about the Playstation 5 this coming Thursday, June 4.
Jim Ryan, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Studios, confirmed the upcoming presentation in a new blog post. “The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware,” he says.
According to Mr. Ryan, Sony’s announcement stream will last for a little over an hour and be packed with announcements. “A lack of physical events has given us an amazing opportunity to think differently and bring you on this journey with us, and hopefully, closer than ever before. This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you.”
You can expect a lot more of these big video reveals next month, as companies move around what would have been E3 and schedule their big announcements on their own time. In Sony’s case, however, they never planned to show off the PS5 at E3 to begin with. The Playstation 5 reveal happens Thursday, June 4 at 4 PM Eastern / 1 PM Pacific.
