Skyjoy Interactive Announces “Super Kid Cannon” for Mobile Phones
Miami, FL-based Skyjoy Interactive has announced a new platformer video game in the vein of Mario and Donkey Kong for mobile phones, Super Kid Cannon, with their trailer debuting here at Bilateral Warp.
The trailer shows innovative additions to the platformer genre. You always have to be launched upward, working through a variety of environments and obstacles, in a way that reminds me of Peggle, except there’s no limit to how far you can be launched as you keep going upward… well, until the end of the level, anyway. And there’s a lot of environments shown in this game, ranging from jungles, mountains, and even outer space which makes me think this is going to be a rather long, fulfilling entry in mobile phone gaming. Skyjoy is promising 30 levels.
The plot is simple, as you’re trying to save your girlfriend Justine from an evil snow leopard named Khan; though with a game with gameplay like this, does the plot have to be as complicated as a typical Final Fantasy game? No, I didn’t think so.
Right now, the game is planned to be released in New Zealand first, following the pattern created by Angry Birds 2 and Plants Vs. Zombies 2, followed by a worldwide release. It is free-to-play and, judging by the trailer, rapid-paced so it should be a blast when it launches later this year.
