Sifu reveals It’s combat System
Sifu is bringing back the beat ’em up video game genre back. In a world where most games are multiplayer shooters, It is nice to see this genre of game getting some love again. Sloclap, A French game developer had been working on this game for years. The game is like a mixture between Fable , Shen-mu and Sleeping Dogs. The latest trailers explains the mechanics and features of the game.
Your character will start as a young Kung-fu student and as your game progress, the character ages and the character gets stronger in time. He is on the quest of taking vengeance and he will pursue it until the last day of his life.
Your character gains experience and skills as he gets older. After all, the title of this game is the Mandarin word for a highly skillful person or a master. Your intention in this game is to be the ultimate Kung-fu master. Sifu is a Single-player game so you won’t have to worry about those 12-year-olds who tea bags at Fortnite. It is a single-player experience for you to explore. It is nice to finally play a game that doesn’t require the internet and people online.
Timing and reaction are crucial to the combat system of Sifu. It also borrowed some elements from Fighting games. “Structural gauge” is similar to the Parry system of Streetfighter III. You will lose your ability to block and be vulnerable if you are depending on it too much. This will inspire players to be more offensive than defensive. Sifu uses a Stylized art style which means its graphics will age well compared to those games with realistic graphics.
8 months ago, the first trailer of Sifu was revealed and in this older trailer, it showed the main character starting as a boy in his teens and ending as an elderly Kung-fu master in the end.
