She-ra will have a live action adaptation in Amazon Prime
She-Ra The Princess of Power will have a live-action adaptation from Amazon Prime.
She-ra is a spin-off of He-man that managed to succeed on its own. Unlike her brother who defends his Kingdom from Skeletor. She-ra lives in the world under the control of the villains. She-Ra also started as a villain.
She defected from the dark side and becomes She-Ra after meeting her missing brother who inspired her to fight for what is right. She debuted on the movie The Secret of the Sword and she end up having an animated series of her own. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power managed to have two seasons with about 93 episodes. In 2018, Dream Works pictures and Netflix made a reboot titled She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
That reboot made changes like Catra being a childhood friend and a tragic villain instead of a generic villain. Her design is also desexualized to promote body positivity. Adora is also a Lesbian on this reboot. The Amazon Prime Adaptation will not follow the Netflix reboot and it will be stand alone on its own. It will also have no connection to the upcoming live-action He-man films. There is no information yet if they will follow the original 1980s cartoon or they will make a modernized stand-alone adaptation that will appeal to a newer generation.
The Netflix reboot divided the fans and people either likes it or hates it. Dreamworks will be involved in this live-action series again but there are no words yet if this will appease the fans of the original or favor the reboot fans. Just like the 2018 reboot, He-man is most likely not going to exist on this series so She-ra will stand on her own. Netflix still has the rights for He-man and currently has two different animated series about him.
