SDCC 2017: Infinity War Director Talks Thanos, Scale Of Film
Infinity War was in full display at San Diego Comic Con, and though a full trailer was not shown, those who attended the panel were able to see glimpses of what’s coming, including Thanos not wearing the armor he did in Guardians of the Galaxy or other cameo appearances. IGN talked with co-director Joe Russo who talked about the “journey” that Thanos is on:
“He has a more casual approach in this film and it’s very philosophical for him. It’s part of his character definition. It’s a spiritual journey for him to collect the [Infinity] Stones and one with which he does not need armor. Once he starts acquiring the Stones he doesn’t require armor the same way he did when he was a warlord. It’s a very symbolic costume,” he said.
In some of the footage it was noted how powerful Thanos was with and without the gauntlet. And even for Russo, some of what they did gave him pause:
“It’s a staggering level of scale in the films. Sometimes when I’m working on the third act of this movie, I’m just like ‘How are we gonna pull this off?’…It’s so big! He [Thanos] has universe-altering power if he gets his hands on the Stones. The scale of the things he does has to match the scale of the power of the Stones so I think people are going to be surprised at the scale of the movies,” he said.
Infinity War arrives in theaters May 4th, 2018.

I saw Guardian of the Galaxy 2 and that they talk about this and is shown through the movie and I wondered what would happen to Thanos. I did not know they were going to make a movie about what happened to him and the other stuff. It looks like it will be an interesting movie too see. Its going to be a long time though until I would see the movie because it is going to come out next year. Hopefully it will be as good as it is in the trailer.
