Scarlet Moon Introduces Piano Diaries: DELTARUNE Ch.1
Looks like the year isn’t winding down without at least one more release from Scarlet Moon, the specialty music publisher who deals in covers of familiar video game soundtracks. This Christmas, they’ve teamed up with veteran piano arrangers and performers David Russell and Laura Platt to present Piano Diaries: DELTARUNE Ch.1.
It’s a 40-track solo piano tribute to Toby Fox’s Undertale sequel — what’s been released of it so far, anyway. You’ll find remixes of familiar tunes like the battle theme, “Rude Buster,” and “Field of Hopes and Dreams” all performed mainly on the piano.
“Recordings of music from DELTARUNE have become increasingly popular over the last several years,” says producer and pianist David Russell. “With these ‘Piano Diaries,’ Laura and I sought to create a single, cohesive experience that reimagines the iconic themes of DELTARUNE with classical sensibilities that will give listeners an opportunity to relive the experience of the game from a new perspective. The pianistic interpretations in this album take an experimental and cinematic approach with the inclusion of light percussion ensembles, dynamic textures, and driving passages that seek to amplify the tension and elegance of the events these tracks accompany during the game. We’re very proud of these recordings, and we hope you have a lot of fun listening to them!”
You can find Piano Diaries: DELTARUNE Ch.1 through the storefronts linked here. Scarlet Moon is also selling several albums this year tied directly to the holiday season.
