Rumour: Crytek Have Crysis 3 Running On Wii U, On Par With PC Version?
Crytek have recently stated they have no intentions of bringing Crysis to the Wii U, however it is interesting to see that they have experimented with the system…
- Crytek is not currently developing a game for Wii U, they have created a Crysis 3 level just to explore the consoles capabilities.
- Apparently they tried this level on the (V4) last Dev Kit.
- The game ran on DX9 with native 720p resolution, FXAA filter (it is impossible to use TXAA), good framerate (30-35 stable fps), high quality texture (no pop up as in the Ps3/x360 game version due to the higher RAM amount), not fully implemented water shaders.
- Great particles effects (ambient occlusion on par with PC version).
- Lighting effect on par with PC version (ultra setting).
- In the dev kit tested, it is not possible to “turn off” the Pad monitor, so that it always streams 480p contents.
- The programming staff thinks that (they are not sure) toggling off the Pad monitor, the game could run on a 1080p native resolution.
- May show demo on show floor.
- Hopeful for more power if Wii U controller screen isn’t utlised.
Nintendo recently unlocked some extra power in the 3DS for developers by playing about with the internal settings. Perhaps they could do the same in a few cases so developers can milk the Wii U for all its worth…
