Rising Star 2 Coming To Steam This Fall
In 2007, the original Rising Star — an RPG sim title where you formed a band and worked your way to stardom — was released for PC. It’s been a while since then, but there is finally going to be a sequel….developer Gilligames announced Rising Star 2 today.
You are the band leader…hire your other members based on compatibility (the history of any major rock band should tell you why this is important). Create your band’s appearance and work odd jobs to afford your first steps into the rock world. Eventually you’ll start landing gigs, and eventually be discovered, leading to a lucrative contract and plenty of hotels to trash. It’s easier to achieve stardom in a video game.
“I am thrilled to bring the Rising Star franchise back to life,” says Todd Gillissie, the founder of Gilligames. “Rising Star 2 is the perfect opportunity for those looking for an in-depth rock band simulator that requires you to build a rock career from scratch.”
- A dynamic musician attitude system (DMAS) to recruit compatible musicians and kick out musicians that no longer get along.
- Hiring managers to find recording contracts, endorsements, and book individual gigs or entire tours.
- Full customization of a band’s appearance with thousands of combinations of hairstyles, makeup, and clothing.
- Customizing the band’s van appearance with more than 80 different paint jobs.
- Purchase and own a variety of houses to call home that can be upgraded and decorate to your liking.
- Living the classic rockstar life by trashing hotels & motels for inspiration and fun.
- Choosing from 600 different types of real equipment to see what works best for the band.
- Booking venues and tours across more than 130 cities in the United States.
- Thousands of locations to explore including homes, bars, theaters, stadiums, clothing stores, music stores, studios, hotels, art galleries, print shops, manager offices, garages, parks, cemeteries, and hospitals.
Gilligames estimates Rising Star 2 should be completed and out for PC in the third quarter of 2020.
