Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics for Rise of the Tomb Raider, highlighting the mechanics and central features of the gameplay. You can check out the first episode of Woman vs. Wild in the player below. The first episode, “Harsh Environments,” focuses on how Lara Croft utilizes her skills to survive in hostile landscapes teaming with dangerous wildlife, allies and enemies.
The video provides some new insight on the beginning of the game. There will be a stage where Lara Croft is once again alone in the wilderness. With next to no survival, save for a pick axe, Croft has to scavenge what she can to survive such a harsh and wintry wilderness. There will be crafting and upgrades for Croft’s weapons, and hunting various animals and collecting their pelts will allow Lara Croft to gain valuable XP points for upgrades at base camps. It looks like there are also local natives, who seem to speak perfect English, who Croft can accept quests and missions from.
In the critically-acclaimed Tomb Raider, Lara Croft survived a harrowing experience only to be discredited as part of a cover up. Now, after uncovering an ancient mystery, Lara must explore the most treacherous and remote regions of Siberia to find the secret of immortality before a ruthless organization known as Trinity. Lara must use her wits and survival skills, form new alliances, and ultimately embrace her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Experience high-octane action moments, conquer beautifully hostile environments, engage in brutal guerrilla combat, and explore awe-inspiring deadly tombs in the evolution of survival action. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara becomes more than a survivor as she embarks on her first great Tomb Raiding expedition.
