Rise of the Tomb Raider Expansion Date Revealed
According to a report by Gamespot, Microsoft confirmed that the new story expansion for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, is set to launch later this month on January 26. The new expansion will feature “hours” of new gameplay content, and it pits Lara Croft against new enemies. Players will also get to explore a new tomb.
The official description for the expansion hints at Croft facing an ancient and mythic evil. Perhaps, players will actually get to face off with the malevolent and evil Baba Yaga witch of legend and myth. In The Temple of the Witch, Croft sets out to solve a decades old mystery. The expansion also gives players access to a new outfit for Croft and a new bow.
Per the report, Microsoft has not made any mention of an Xbox 360 release for the expansion. In addition, Rise of the Tomb Raider is set for its official Windows PC launch just two days later on January 28. So will PC players also get access to the new expansion on that date? The details are not yet clear.
Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch for Rise of the Tomb Raider is included with the $30 DLC pass. Microsoft still has not yet revealed an individual price for the DLC, but that will likely be announced soon. This will be the first of two planned story expansions. The other story DLC, Cold Darkness Awakened, is due out later this year for the game.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is currently available for Xbox One and Xbox 360. The PlayStation 4 version is scheduled for a holiday 2016 release.
