Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City looks better than those Paul W.S. Anderson films but it still looks bad.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, I have high hopes for this movie because they promise a movie that is more faithful to the Source Material. I was glad that the Mary Sue Fan fiction character Alice is gone. I have an open mind with this movie even if they racebended Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine. Leon is supposed to be White and Jill is supposed to be an American woman of French and Japanese descent.
The official Twitter of the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon city revealed images of the film:
Base on the images they revealed the movie will be a mess. Why did I call it a mess, They will combine three games into one movie. Thirty to 40 hours of content will be combined into a 1 to 2-hour film. I think Combining Resident evil zero and Resident Evil 1 should have been the first film. Then merging Resident evil 2 and 3 into a sequel is more proper. The Resident evil 1 is months apart from the Raccoon City incident. Jill Valentine’s S.T.A.R.S Uniform looks nothing like her ingame S.T.A.R.S uniform. I can understand them not following Jill’s costume in Resident evil 3 because it’s revealing. The S.T.A.R.S Uniform though is not sexy. They replaced the beret and cop uniform with a Black sleeveless vest. Jill looks like Rain Ocampo from the Milla Jovovich Resident Evil movies.
The only positive I saw from the images they released is Lisa Trevor finally going Live action. Lisa Trevor is one of the most tragic monsters in Resident Evil lore. She was an innocent teenage daughter of the Architect who built the Spencer Mansion. She and her mother were kidnapped and got experimented on. Lisa turned into an unkillable monster who will kill anyone on her path.
Fan-favorite characters like Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers are removed because they are combining three movies into one.
