Resident Evil Village (AKA Resident Evil 8) Coming 2021
One of the most talked-about trailers from yesterday’s Playstation 5 video presentation was the surprise reveal of Resident Evil Village, or alternately, Resident Evil 8. According to Capcom the official title of the game is Resident Evil Village, but it is also the canon eighth game in the series (indicated by some of the words in the Village logo forming the Roman numeral VIII).
Village is a continuation of Resident Evil 7 and stars the protagonist from that game, Ethan Winters. Having survived his nightmarish adventure in Louisiana, he is now reunited with his missing wife, and all seems well in Ethan-Land until he’s contacted by iconic RE cast member Chris Redfield.
Chris is involved in something “shocking” that Capcom won’t share the details of…but it drives Ethan into an investigation, taking him to the mysterious village the game is named after. “Unlike the cramped corridors of the Baker mansion in Resident Evil 7, the fear of dark corners has been replaced with the anxiety of the unknown as Ethan searches for answers within decrepit buildings among snow-covered trees,” says Capcom.
Resident Evil Village is strictly a next-gen experience! It will be available ONLY on Playstation 5 and XBox Series X, but also on PC if your rig is powerful enough. Look for it in 2021…and more info to be shared in the months leading there.
