Reggie Fils-Aime Says Nintendo Has to Do Better With the Nintendo NX
Speaking to alistdaily, Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime admits that Nintendo has made mistakes. However, he also said that Nintendo will have to do better when it comes to the launch of the next upcoming Nintendo console, which is codenamed the Nintendo NX. This is in reference to the disappointing sales and performance of the Nintendo Wii U.
Speaking on the subject, Fils-Aime stated, “One of the things that we have to do better when we launch the NX [is] we have to do a better job communicating the positioning for the product. We have to do a better job helping people to understand its uniqueness and what that means for the game playing experience.”
He added, “We have to do a better job from a software planning standpoint.” Hopefully, this means that the NX will have stronger third-party game development and support. That was one of the issues that plagued the Wii U.
Fils-Aime continued on the Nintendo learning its lessons, “[Nintendo must] have that continuous beat of great new games that are motivating more and more people to pick up the hardware and more and more people to pick up the software. Those are the critical lessons.”
The new console is slated for a 2017 release. So far, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is confirmed to be released for the system.
