Raiders Of The Broken Planet Gets Gamescom Trailer
Raiders Of The Broken Planet will be available to play for the first time on the Microsoft Xbox booth in Hall 8 at the Koln Messe during GamesCom 2016, alongside a brand new character trailer that reveals some of the quirky, interesting and downright fun rogues and villains that inhabit this outlandish western in space. MercurySteam, the award winning independent development studio from Madrid – Spain has today announced that its online 4 vs 1 asymmetric sci fi adventure Raiders of the Broken Planet will be shown fully playable for the first time at the GamesCom show in Cologne next week.
The game will be available to try out on the Xbox booth in Hall 8 as part of its ID@Xbox area at the show. Players will have the chance to experience first-hand the single player experience and get a small taste of what the final game has to offer. Speaking about Raiders Of The Broken Planet, Enric Alvarez, Head of Studio at MercurySteam, said:
“This is just another glimpse into the universe we are trying to create. A universe full of interesting, unusual characters who are really just a bunch of rogues, misfits and villains who somehow come together to fight a common cause. We wanted to create a game and a story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, that has great interaction between the various factions yet offers an exciting and difficult challenge.”
Also released today is a new character trailer especially for GamesCom which reveals some of the game’s memorable and unique characters. The trailer once again highlights the shooting and brawling game mechanic revealed last month at GameLab in a superb cinematic way. Players need to brawl with opponents in order to replenish supplies and boost abilities. Dave Cox, Senior Producer at MercurySteam, spoke about Raiders Of The Broken Planet’s trailer, saying:
“The trailer is a fun glimpse into the world of Raiders and some of the characters you can play with there. Lycus Dion is a cocky hands on type of character who isn’t afraid to get up close and personal but this often land him in trouble. Big guy Konstantin is a burly Russian who is always on hand to save Lycus when he goes too far. Alicia on the other hand is a crazy aussie who ends up saving the both of them and the mysterious antagonist at the end is a just a hint at the key feature the game has to offer in multiplayer mode – 4 vs 1 antagonist.”
