QWOP Launches on Android
The popular browser game QWOP has been ported to Android and is now available for a mere £0.62 or $0.99.
QWOP was originally developed by Bennett Foddy and launched in 2008. The game then became the focus of a meme in late 2010 which resulted in millions of people becoming aware of the instantly entertaining game. The Android port has been developed by Noodlecake, who Foddy has praised via Twitter.
The Android port features an entirely new control scheme, in the browser version players controlled the Olympic runner’s legs using the buttons Q,W,O and P (Hence the name) however the Android version involves making circles on the touchscreen to make the runner move and tilting the device to change his leaning angle.
Along with a new control scheme the Android version features five game-modes which are, 100m, Long Jump, 500KM Walk, Steeplechase and Hurdles. And unsurprisingly online leaderboards are present so you can compare scores with friends.
You can play the browser version of QWOP right here or you can purchase the Android version through the Google Play Store.
