One of the most stressful parts of gaming online is dealing with trolls and bullies. It is quite common for the voice chat feature that causes a lot of drama. Your teammate or opponent can be offensive, disrespectful, and hostile.
I had dealt with racist twelve-year-olds from multiple first-person shooters. I usually turn off the voice chat, but voice chat is necessary for games where you have teammates. Usually, some immature people can be hostile with someone who have a foreign accent.
In fighting games, I had dealt with salty people who will scream at you when they lost to you or will mock you if you got defeated by them. Then there are those players who scream a lot to distract you so they will win.
Female gamers had dealt with sexist male players who disrespect them. Whether they win or lose. To make it worst, some men will sexually harass them on voice chat. If there will be a decrease in the harassment of women in voice chat of games, More women will be encouraged to play games.
It is long overdue, but Ps5 is going to have a voice chat recording feature and abuse report feature at launch! Sony listened to these complaints in the last two gaming generations. Now Sony Ps5 is going to introduce a voice chat recording session. So if someone is abusive and toxic to you or someone else, you can report them to the moderators.
If you reported a recording, their moderators will listen to them and do the right actions against the abuser. Some gaming fanbases are known to be toxic, and this could be the breakthrough needed to make a change.
Sony never mentioned what will be the repercussions an abuser or troll will face if they got reported, and the moderator confirms they are guilty.
