Pre-order Gran Turismo 6 to earn exclusive extras
If you’re intent on purchasing the sixth instalment in Kazunori Yamauchi’s Gran Turismo series, you might want to place a pre-order, as there are some seriously tasty treats available to those who do.
Writing on the US PlayStation Blog, SCEA Product Manager Ken Chan has revealed a number of incentive schemes supported by participating retailers that should succeed in getting GT fans to front-up their funds. For starters, a pre-order from most reputable vendors will earn you four bonus motors: the BMW Z4 GT3 ’11, the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 ’13, the Tesla Model S Signature Performance ’13, and the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C7) ’14.
Put in a pre-order at GameStop specifically, however, and you’ll get these plus a 15th Anniversary Edition upgrade that adds a further 16 turbo-charged chariots to the racer’s catalogue. They are:
- Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale 2011
- Alpine A110 1600S 1968
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage 2010
- Audi R8 LMS ultra 2012
- Ford Focus ST 2013
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2013
- Honda HSV-010 (SUPER GT) 2011
- KTM X-BOW R
- Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 2011
- Lexus IS F Racing Concept 2008
- Lotus Europa (type54) 1968
- Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 2011
- Renault Sport Megane Trophy V6 2011
- SRT Viper GTS 2013
- TRD 86 Racing 2008
- Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 Race Car 2008
“Cars shmars”, you say? Well, Amazon.com is offering a whopping $1 million in-game credits to whomever pre-orders online, allowing players to build their dream car collection from the moment their career begins. They will also get the keys to the four vehicles pictured above in addition.
GT6 is scheduled to arrive ‘Holiday 2013’, bringing with it more than 1,200 cars, 71 circuits across 33 international locations, a new physics engine, a new course creator, mobile device compatibility and all the 3D adaptive tessellation you could ever wish for. It’s going to be one superb racing simulator.
