Power Rangers Returning To Comics Via Boom Studios
With the series still running, and a motion picture in the works, Power Rangers is still incredibly popular. Thanks to a reveal from BOOM! Studios, we now know the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will be returning to comics via a new ongoing series. As stated, this will feature the original Power Rangers team, and will delve into new stories that’ll help grow and expand the mythology the show has created. Interestingly enough, it’ll actually start via six one shots at San Diego Comic-Con according to The Hollywood Reporter, with the six combining to make one full story.
The editor for the series, Matt Gagnon, is very excited for this series, stating: “We have big, big plans that will build on the core universe of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. …We can’t give too much away just yet, but the story we’re kicking off with is vast in scope. Fans of BOOM! know we treat the existing properties we collaborate on with a focus on authenticity and quality. That’s the same sensibility we’re applying here.”
If this succeeds like BOOM! Studios truly wants it to? This could open up a vast array of future series down the line. It could even grow to where each Power Rangers series has its own comic. Not unlike how the Doctor Who comics have their series for each Doctor.
So grab your morphers! It’s Morphin Time!
