Portal Knights Gets a Free Console Trial
505 Games and Keen Games officially announced this week that Portal Knights now has a free trial for consoles. The 3D action-RPG sandbox game has a free trial that players can try out now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s available for gamers across EMEA and the United States.
The new trial version will allow players to to try a lot of the game’s features ahead of the official console release. Players will be able to explore the first island in both single and multiplayer modes. Gamers can also learn the basics for the combat and crafting systems in the game. Here’s a full breakdown of the game’s features for the trial version:
- Make your hero: Players can choose between warrior ranger and mage and they can then customize their avatar appearance through the creation editor. Then they can explore the first island to level up your hero and create a Portal Knight with assigning attribute points and learning unique talents. Players can then get a pet companion for the adventure.
- The game has offline coop mode for two players in split screen. Players can join forces, build structures, go through dungeons, fight monsters, go on quests, trade, and go to the first island, Squire’s Knoll.
- Transfer in-game progress to the full game: the free trial save data can later be transferred to the full game after it’s released. Gamers can then continue their adventures from where they left off.
Portal Knights will be released next month on May 23 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One via retail stores and digital download. It will hit the EMEA on May 19. The game will also leave Early Access on Steam with a full 1.0 version at the same time.
