Play Minigames From Kingdom Hearts 3 In Kingdom Hearts Union X
Kingdom Hearts 3 isn’t due out until January, but you can get a sneak preview of some of the game’s content in Kingdom Hearts Union X….in a sense. The mobile game has added the same minigames that will be found in the retail title for PS4 and XBox. How’s that possible? Because these minigames aren’t that graphics-intensive.
“Classic Kingdom” is the name of a series of black-and-white minigames based on 1930s Disney shorts. The games are rendered in the fashion of LCD Game and Watch devices from the 1980s (a comparison to Tiger handhelds is not as apt, because these games will actually be playable).
Upon meeting certain requirements in the ‘CLASSIC KINGDOM’ minigames, players will become eligible to receive a code redeemable for the Starlight Keyblade that can be used in KINGDOM HEARTS III. The codes will be distributed in-app at a later date, and players will be able to select their preferred platform (Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X or PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system).
Here’s the coolest part: if you do well enough in these minigames, you’ll unlock a special weapon in Kingdom Hearts 3 itself. Meet certain requirements, and a code will appear that will grant you the Starlight Keyblade in your inventory when KH3 launches on January 28.
The minigames are live in Kingdom Hearts Union X as of today. Beat ’em before the New Year rolls around…
