Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales To Be A Return To Form?
It’s a well known fact, that just because you have a hit movie, doesn’t mean the sequel (or sequels) will live up the grandness of the first film. It’s happened many times that some often wonder why a franchise didn’t just stay a single memorable film. Such is the case with Pirates of the Caribbean. The first movie was a revelation, the second was good, but not as great, three had some great moments, and four…well let’s not talk about four.
With Pirates 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales coming, including having the return of Will Turner (who was a big part of the original trilogy), many are wondering if it’ll be a return to form. New cast member Kaya Scodelario, who told Digital Spy:
“It [does have] a lot more of the first movie, that’s what they wanted to bring it back to,” Scodelario told Digital Spy. “[The producers] want to take it back to the beginning again. They wanted it to have this epic journey, and for it to make sense, and for it to tie things up, and also lead to new storylines.”
Well that does sound promising, and some franchises have rebounded by going back to their roots. Hopefully Pirates 5 will do just that. Dead Men Tell No Tales comes to theaters July 7th, 2017.
