Paul Rudd Reinforces How Ant-Man Fits Into the Marvel Cinematic Universe
We’re only days away from the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Then (after a few weeks of talking about it, dissecting it, etc.), our eyes will turn to Ant-Man, the last movie in Marvel’s Phase Two.
There have been a lot of issues with the movie, not the least of which was the departure of long-time director Edgar Wright, and his script along with it. This has not only left many fans uneasy but has them curious as to whether Ant-Man will even fit in the larger MCU.
Paul Rudd, aka Scott Lang, aka the second Ant-Man, has heard these questions and was more than happy to answer in an interview with MTV News.
“Certainly it’s a part of the Marvel Universe. However, it stands on its own. That seemed to be a sticking point or something that was discussed when the history of this project was reported with Edgar, and wanting to make it more of Marvel movie. I think it absolutely fits in.”
Rudd also noted that this might not be the last time we see Ant-Man in the MCU, “I also wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Ant-Man in some other things… [Marvel] has said a few things. I know some things, but I don’t know everything.”
So there’s still some mystery to the movie, which might just help it when it releases on July 17th. You can see the full Paul Rudd interview below.
