Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Coming To Consoles Next Year
After the success of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, creator Owlcat Games got to work on a sequel…Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous. Finding cash was no problem…the crowdfunding campaign ended with over two million dollars raised. Owlcat conducted an alpha test in the spring of 2020, and a beta test last May, and now all things look OK, so the game will be released for PCs on time next month.
But what about consoles? Owlcat says they’ve been thinking about it and have decided to press ahead. The console version of Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous was announced today, with a targeted release date of March 2022.
In Wrath Of The Righteous you’re battling a demonic invasion to save the world of Golarian. As you command your forces and level up, you’ll have the ability to transform into more powerful forms depending on the skills you desire: “a celestial Angel, a raging Demon, a powerful Lich, a cunning Trickster, an otherworldly Aeon, a rebellious Azata, a wise Gold Dragon, [and] an insatiable Swarm That Walks” are all listed as options. — You also have the option of not transforming at all and beating your enemies through brute strength, earning you the class of Legend.
Wrath Of The Righteous includes the new Crusade Mode, which lets players select their general, change the size of their army, and explore the map of the world, with stats like remaining movement points, army and enemy strengths and combat morale clearly displayed. It’s also possible to ride animal companions, who come with their own progression systems and customization options.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will launch September 2 for PC via Steam and GOG, and sometime in March for Playstation 4 and XBox One.
