(NOTE: This is an Amazon Prime Original, however, it is streaming free on Viki.) ♦ I’m a Real Auntie “Battle for Happiness” is a “how to” Korean drama series about how NOT to be a bad mother and how to be the best auntie in the whole wide world. Some mothers believe being upper class and snooty is the only way to live. They put their children under extreme pressure to behave according to their “standards”. Three (3) mothers ~ Song Jeong-A, Kim Na-Young, and Oh Yoo-Jin ~ compete with each other on social media (and everywhere else!). In other words, they are in a battle for happiness. Try to be happier than me. I dare you!! There is another mother, Hwang Ji-Ye, who is a working mom. She doesn’t have much free time to compete on social media. Besides, she already knows she is not in
Strategy PC Game Songs Of Silence Launches Kickstarter
If you enjoy strategy games like Might & Magic, you’ll be interested in Songs Of Silence, a new PC title now under development by Chimera Entertainment. It just launched its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Songs Of Silence takes place in a fantasy world where the forces of literal light and darkness are warring with one another. Gameplay uses a traditional map-based campaign, with army, kingdom and resource management, plus a battle system directed by the use of card-based orders and divine interventions. Taking advantage of terrain can help; forces will be harder to spot among the trees of a forest than on an open path. You’ll have the ability to “fast march” your troops from one area to another if urgency requires it, but using this strategy leaves you more open to attack during your haste. Two Worlds at War: Lead mighty armies, exploring the world on the strategic map to gain a tactical advantage. Outwit your opponents with deadly ambushes, and manage precious resources to rebuild the ravaged land
Eeek! This M3GAN Is Real!
What if some fool got ahold of the designs for M3GAN and recreated the doll in real life? We’d all be doomed, wouldn’t we? Fortunately, no one’s that dumb, not even Elon Musk. No, wait….someone IS! SHE’S HERE! AAAAAAAAHHH! M3GAN was a surprise hit for Universal two years ago. Films that are dumped in January are usually there because the studio has little faith in them, and they tend to be horror films, so they all blend together and make little money. M3GAN defied the odds, though. After everyone witnessed this mechanical killer doing TikTok dances before lunging at someone in an office building, they had to know more, and now there’s a sequel coming next year. M3GAN has made it! Getting to the point, collectible merchandisers NECA have licensed the property to create a life-size M3GAN, proportioned just as she would be in the film. They say the sculpt is 100% exact: it is “based on M3GAN’s on-screen appearance, duplicated from actual film-used digital files to be the most
Freaky Friday 2 under development
Freaky Friday 2 is now under development as confirmed by Jamie Lee Curtis on her Instagram. 21 years ago Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis played the role of Ana Coleman and Tess Coleman. A teenage daughter and her career oriented mom who don’t get along. They experience a body swap and experience how hard each other’s life is making them closer when they finally got free from the curse. Lindsay Lohan is currently experiencing a renaissance in her career, and one of her hit movies finally has a sequel. Years ago, her movie “Life-Size” with Tyra Banks got a sequel, but Lindsay Lohan was not able to commit to the project, so Tyra had to come up with a different story. Fans have been asking for Lohan to star in a “Freaky Friday” sequel throughout the years, and perfect timing seems to have finally arrived. Freaky Friday 2 announcement Lohan was only 17 years old when she did this movie. Now she is 37 obviously her character Anna
One the Woman (2021): Perfect K-Drama for Fans of Honey Lee
“One the Woman” is the perfect Korean drama series for fans of Honey Lee (or Lee Ha-Nee). The series was released in 2021, has 16 episodes, and is categorized as Crime, Mystery, Romance, and Comedy. Lee Ha-Nee had taken time off from her acting career to start a family. She returned to acting in the 2024 K-drama series “Knight Flower”. In that historical period series, she played a widow by day and a masked crusader by night, doing noble deeds for those in need. Old fans were happy to see her once again and no doubt this series created new fans for her. Once Lee Ha-Nee returned to work she got busy. She was cast to star in the 2024 Korean movie “Alienoid 2”, and the 2024 K-drama series “Aema”. They are on my watch list. The filmography for this popular South Korean actress dates back to 2009. Old and new fans will likely want to check out some of her other acting projects, such as “One the Woman”. In

Out heroes, a Zorro-type swashbuckler named Cedric and a pirate princess they call Orchid, get to work attacking his minions and protecting the kingdom from the wizard’s wrath. Kaiju No 8 To Be Streamed Live Alongside Japanese Debut on Crunchyroll
The global premiere of Kaiju No 8 on Crunchyroll, and will stream simultaneously with Japan. When can you watch this Production I.G anime? Crunchyroll has a lot of new shows coming this month (as we’ve covered) but the noisiest of them is Kaiju No 8. Based on the hit manga created by Naoya Matsumoto, it’s the most anticipated anime so far this year. But you won’t have to wait for the Japanese airing to trickle out to the rest of the world…all of Earth will be getting it at the same time! For the first time ever, Crunchyroll is hosting a live streaming of a new anime each week at the exact time it airs in Japan (which would be 8:30 AM Pacific, 11:30 AM Eastern for American readers). There will be no delay whatsoever to Kaiju No. 8…to see it first, all you have to do is wake up early enough. The show will be streamed live in over 200 countries around the world. In a world where kaiju
Dead by Daylight: My Little Oni Event is a limited event of Giant proportions
After the release of the controversial “Killer the ‘Unknown’” by Dead by Daylight, there will be an event that might revitalize one of the veteran Killers. When this teaser was released, people thought it was just an April Fool’s joke, but it’s not. It is an April Fool’s event but it is actually playable! In fact, there is a PTB (Public Test Build) that is playable for selected streamers. The event, “My Little Oni,” will make the killer, “The Oni,” look massive to Survivor players. He won’t be a giant; instead, the Survivors will be shrunk to be smaller. Making him a giant might mess up the map. It’s a shame that the Attack on Titan skins are now out of the Dead by Daylight Store because this event would be awesome with the Armored Titan skin for Oni. This event is temporary, Once the event is over “Giant Oni” will be gone. I hope this event will be at least active for a month at least. Oni killer mains will
8-Bit Brigade Launches Kickstarter
Indie developers unite for 8-Bit Brigade, a Switch compilation of NES homebrew games, now crowdfunding on Kickstarter. We’ve covered the crowdfunding campaigns for several NES homebrews around here. Usually their purpose is to produce physical versions on real NES cartridges, but getting the games published on modern hardware is another matter (unless it’s Steam, then you just roll the ROM into an emulation package and hit “publish”). So, these indie creators figured, why not team up and release one massive compilation title? Thus was formed the 8-BIT BRIGADE. The campaign launched today. 8-Bit Brigade contains ten of the biggest NES projects of the last few years, from developers like Dale Coop (Skate Cat), Nate Peters (Doodle World) and YouTuber John Riggs (Yeah Yeah Beebiss II). The #1 goal is to produce a physical copy on Switch, and for that to happen a higher number of pledges has to be hit — the goal is $60,000. They’re a long way off, but with 29 days to go (and your help), they
Golden Rainbow: Orphans are Humans Too!
“Golden Rainbow” is a Korean drama series about orphans who become a family, released in 2013, with 41 episodes, and categorized as Family and Romance. ♦ A Bungled Kidnapping Separates a Child From Her Family In “Golden Rainbow”, seven (7) orphans, not related by blood become a family. But before that happens, your heart starts breaking when you watch the very first scene of Episode 1. A woman who has lost her husband through a tragedy must suffer even more when her mother-in-law takes her child from her as well. Yoon Young-Hye and Kim Han-Joo grew up in an orphanage together. Even though Young-Hye loved Han-Joo, she married for money; not for love. Because she was an orphan she was never accepted by her wealthy mother-in-law. When her husband died, the mother-in-law kicked her daughter-in-law into the streets and kept her granddaughter. The family business was supposed to be left to her son but since he died, the mother-in-law intended for her granddaughter to inherit the wealth. That was the
Parasyte the Grey: 2024 Sci-Fi K-Drama Only on Netflix
“Parasyte the Grey” is a Korean drama series, released in 2024, with 6 episodes, categorized as a science fiction (sci-fi) thriller, action, and could be considered horror. This is a Korean adaptation of a popular manga (“Parasyte” by Japanese author Hitoshi Iwaaki) and anime series (“Parasyte: The Maxim”). ♦ Why Do the Aliens Always Want to Eat Our Brains? In “Parasyte the Grey”, if a person had an advance warning they would probably wear earplugs. That’s how the parasyte gets into their brain. It goes through the human ear. Honestly! It’s not fair. The aliens don’t have ears. They’re just creepy crawlies like insects; insecticide spray doesn’t get rid of them and they move too fast for you to crush them with your feet. For once, having bad health is a blessing. The parasyte tried to infect Jeong Su-In and live off of her as its host. But for some reason, it didn’t make it into her brain. It seems that if you’re healthy the parasyte will make its home
The Original ALIEN Returning To Theaters Once More
No matter how many lackluster sequels and spinoffs pile up, nothing will ever diminish the impact of the original 1979 Alien — one of the finest films ever made. It changed everything about how science fiction and horror films were shot. It brought the genre out of the realm of cheesiness and campiness and produced a vision of terror that felt REAL. For those who have always wanted to dare to see the original Xenomorph up close, another chance is coming soon. 20th Century Studios has announced a new theatrical run this April 26 (Alien Day) in honor of the franchise’s 45th anniversary (which isn’t precisely that day, it came out in May) and to drum up hype for the coming sequel Alien: Romulus in August (which probably won’t be as good as Alien, but we can hope). The re-screening will include a special featurette about both Alien and Romulus including a conversation between the directors of the two films. The last time 20th Century re-issued this movie in theaters
