Check Out This Kingdom Hearts 3 Themed Playstation 4
These days, when a big release hits a console, that console gets its own limited-edition model with a design themed around that game. Or, at the very least, a bundle package with the game inside. Kingdom Hearts 3 is no different. Though the third game in the series will also be available on XBox One, the series was exclusive to Playstation hardware for a long time….and Sony is rewarding that loyalty with a special Kingdom Hearts 3 themed 1 TB Playstation 4. It’s pretty, but the most peculiar thing about it is the fact that no characters from the series, Disney or Square-based, appear on the console. Instead it’s etched with a lot of curlicued hearts, keys and symbols, as well as a leather-like top surface pattern. You get a Dualshock 4 in the bundle too, etched with the same designs. And of course, a copy of Kingdom Hearts 3. It comes out the same day that the game does — January 29. This limited-edition Playstation 4 will only be
Spider-Gwen Gets Her Own Animated Spinoff
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has barely been out a few hours and already there is talk from Sony about sequels and spinoffs. One reason is because they’re incredibly poor at managing money (Emoji Movie was one of theirs) but another is because Spider-Verse IS on track to reach #1 at the box office this weekend. Without giving away too much, the ending to the movie does suggest another adventure in Miles’ future. But the sequel, if one is made, might not star him. Sony is thinking of giving one of Miles’ co-stars, Gwen Stacy / Spider-Gwen, her own movie. What would the plot be? It’s too early to know, but we hear she wouldn’t be working solo. Interdimensional shenanigans won’t be the culprit, but competition will. Gwen will meet fellow arachnid-themed superheroines Cindy Moon, who goes by the moniker Silk, and Jessica Drew, also known as Spider-Woman. (One potential problem with that…Gwen calls HERSELF “Spider-Woman” in the recent picture. In the comics her superhero name is “Ghost Spider.”) Weirdly, Sony
MINImax Tinyverse Coming To Steam December 26
There are god games and there are tower defense games, but no one’s ever thought to combine the two until MINImax Tinyverse, the new F2P real time 3D strategy-brawling god-game from Korean independent studio O’ol Blue. You’re a deity who lords over a thriving community centered around a magnificent tower. But it’s not as magnificent as the one your rival god has…that means it’s time to get vengeful! Select one specialist from a team of 4 champions, use eleven different options to form an unstoppable army of soldiers, and get to conquering! Does the fact that you’re a god factor into this? In some fashion. You also have the ability to perform miracles — 22 are possible in the game, but you can only assign yourself six. The Steam Early Access version of MINImax Tinyverse will launch December 26, and it’ll be a free download (with paid doodads supporting the cost of making it….you know how this works). The first item up for purchase is the Two Realms Unlock Pack,
Loophole Coming January 8
High Octane Pictures will be bringing their new sci-fi thriller Loophole to VOD platforms early next month. What if you could predict crimes before they happened? Many movies have explored this question, sometimes with literal predictions, but Loophole takes a more realistic approach. A human gene has been isolated that experts believe triggers violence. It is then publicized that people who have this gene are more likely to commit murder or violent acts against others. A call for worldwide testing is made, and millions are ordered to line up for mandatory blood samples. A girl named Lexi submits her test, but gets a surprising result. It doesn’t say she’ll commit a crime, but it suggests….something else. It goes off the rails from there. The promos are keeping it vague as to what is so special about Lexi, and there’s a lot of religious imagery in the trailer we’re confused by. All we know so far is, there’s this gene, and it’s bad. Loophole was directed by Jenni Ivers, and stars
Shortest Trip To Earth Gains Sector Six Update
Shortest Trip To Earth entered Steam Early Access on October 9. Interactive Fate, an Estonian team of indie developers, created a “roguelike spaceship simulator” that combines procedurally generated environments with strategy tactical battles and decisions. Pick your ship, recruit your crew, add robots and weapons, and blast off. When you’re confronted with something dangerous, be it a hostile ship of aliens or plundering space pirates, you’ll be thrown into the battle screen where your choices determine who makes it out. As you progress, you’ll uncover a storyline that changes every time you play through multiple-choice decisions. Also, if you die, that’s it — you’ve gotta build your ship back up again from scratch. Shortest Trip To Earth is unforgiving, but the better you play, the more perks you can unlock to increase your survival chances next time. Now Shortest Trip To Earth has received an update that adds the mysterious Sector Six to the game. Expect new events, new storylines and new battles….plus, pets can now be given commands, your
Skylanders Ring Of Heroes Launches In Canada, Australia & New Zealand
Still waiting for Skylanders Ring of Heroes? You might be interested to know the game is already playable in English….just not in this country. Versions of the game launched on mobile phones today in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They are the first three countries to get the game. “We’ve worked hard to make sure that people all over can enjoy the same great Skylanders franchise that they know and love on their mobile devices,” says a Com2us representative. “Starting with the releases in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, we’ll do our best to bring the Skylanders Ring of Heroes experience to the rest of the world as well.” Skylanders: Ring of Heroes is a turn-based, action RPG adventure based on the IP of Activision’s famous console game. The mobile version will bring back some great memories of Skylanders by featuring 80 different characters from the original story. Not only this, the game will expand the level of strategies by introducing an “Awaken” system which will further enhance the Skylanders
10 Talents I Never Got The Chance To Interview
As we enter the final weeks of 2018, I find myself reflecting on the milestones I hit in 2018 with Pop Geeks. I reached my 100th article for the site with my Pleasant Gehman interview, which was also the 100th unique interview I’ve done. I also made a dream come true this year by interviewing Sherri Stoner, my biggest influence as a writer. Coming up soon will be interviews with Loretta Swit and Aki Aleong. As I hit these milestones, though, I thought of the talents I never had the chance to interview. There’s so many, but these 10 Talents I Never Got The Chance To Interview really stood out for me. Why did I never have the chance to interview these 10 talents? There’s a variety of reasons. In at least three cases, it’s because they died years before I started doing interviews. In another case, I had their contact info, but had a lot on my plate and couldn’t reach out until it was too late. In still
The First Teaser For Punisher Season 2
Looks like we were wrong about Jessica Jones being the sole Marvel Netflix program to still survive. Turns out Netflix ordered a second season of The Punisher before all this purging began, and we’ll get it sometime in 2019. Today they sneakily revealed a bit of it: On the surface this just looks like a generic all-purpose Netflix trailer highlighting all their premieres for next month (the Trolls cartoon is in its fifth season….okay). But at the end, there’s a tag showing vigilante Frank Castle gearing up for another battle. The second season of The Punisher may be the last “gritty” TV project we get from Marvel Studios for a long time. The company’s focus is shifting to please its master Disney, who’s launching their own streaming service in about a year. We don’t know the exact reason why Netflix has been dumping all these Marvel shows, but the oncoming competition is a likely motive. Disney+ is being marketed as more of a family-oriented service, so murderous antiheroes probably won’t
NES Classic And SNES Classic May Be Retired In 2019
Got your NES Classic and SNES Classic yet? Now that they’re plentiful and easy to find, better get on it — because it won’e be that way forever. A new interview with Reggie Fils-Aime conducted by THR suggests the company may be planning to take them off the market in 2019, this time for good. While he was at it, Reggie confirmed they weren’t continuing the line with an N64 Classic or anything beyond, which he’s stated before. We worked very hard, both for the NES Classic and the SNES Classic, to really have the best games that defined that generation. We’ve said that the current systems are the extent of our classic program. We’ve also been clear that, at least from an Americas perspective, these products are going to be available through the holiday season and once they sell out, they’re gone. And that’s it. Something else Reggie suggested previously was that Nintendo Switch Online is intended to be the company focus for satisfying the retro market, and he
Everything You Need To Hack The Playstation Classic Is Now Online
The Playstation Classic was released December 3, to mostly negative reviews — partly due to the lackluster lineup preinstalled on it. Last week it was discovered that the Classic ran off the open-source emulator PCSX ReARMed, and that the menu for this emulator could be accessed by simply plugging in a keyboard. Once that fact was out there, we figured it wouldn’t be long before the end goal — loading other games onto the Playstation Classic — would become a reality. Such a feature is now possible, but not perfected. Turns out the device has incredibly weak security — the encryption key Sony used to secure the most sensitive parts was included in the code for some reason. The whole thing is an open book, and according to Ars Technica, within a day or two it became possible to simply plug a flash drive into the Playstation Classic and play new games. However, it works differently than on the NES or SNES Classic. Currently, the biggest hurdle to putting new
Sword of Convallaria Announced For PC And Mobile
XD Games have announced a new tactical fantasy RPG is coming from their studio: Sword of Convallaria. The game is being developed for both mobile and PC gamers, two markets that typically don’t blend. On the ancient continent of Rodinia exists the humble and peaceful town of Convallaria — or perhaps not so peaceful anymore, as the country it belongs to — Iria — is currently embroiled in conflict. You are leader of the Sword of Convallaria Mercenary Group, whose main goal is to diffuse tensions and restore peace to Iria. This won’t be easy (if it was there would be no game) — it requires forging equipment, researching technology, and forming alliances with various factions in Iria. Be careful to ally with the right people! Lei Guo, lead developer of Sword of Convallaria, says the game was inspired by his love for oldschool turn-based RPGs and retro-style pixel art. The game so far features 300 maps and 1,000 stages with multiple endings for players to unlock, based on the
Scott Pilgrim Anime teaser
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World imprints as one of the most genre-defying films I’ve ever seen. Its visionary concepts, ahead of their time, make me wish it had achieved greater success, as that might have led to sequels. Nonetheless, it thrives as a standalone masterpiece, buoyed by an ardent cult following. Astonishingly, Netflix is crafting an anime adaptation of Scott Pilgrim, with the original live-action cast returning to their iconic roles. Even luminaries such as Brie Larson (Envy Adams) and Chris Evans (Lucas Lee) will lend their voices is a fact that truly astounds me. The last time we see Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim) appears on a movie is at the Billion dollar hit Barbie, where he plays the role of Ken’s buddy Alan. Not really a lead role but he became notable enough. I hope this Anime will make the Gen Z take notice of him. Scott Pilgrim Teaser Click to expand… It’s truly impressive that this anime adaptation retains the exact IMDb cast from the original live-action movie.
