The First Child’s Play Reboot Trailer Is Out
31 years after he first popped out of the Good Guys package, Chucky has been reborn by MGM in the Child’s Play reboot, set for later this year. This was done without the permission of creator Don Mancini and his crew, who are feeling a bit stabby right now themselves. Mancini is still moving forward with a Chucky TV series that uses the original continuity, which he is apparently in legal right to do, just as MGM has the legal permission to make this alternate version. So how does it look? We wish we could show you, but for some reason Popgeeks has always had a terrible time embedding tweets. The best we can do is this; click the link below to see more. The wait is over, your best friend has arrived. Hulu Announces FOUR Marvel Animated Comedies
The old king is dead, long live the king. The recent trend of adult-oriented Marvel dramas on Netflix will soon be replaced by….adult-oriented Marvel comedy cartoons on Hulu. Can’t say we saw that one coming. Yes, soon you’ll be able to see Howard the Duck, MODOK, Hit-Monkey and Dazzler in their own separate shows. Perhaps they will join forces eventually in a fifth series called “The Offenders.” But at the moment, here are Marvel’s official descriptions for each series, beginning with MODOK: • M.O.D.O.K. centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body, who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt will also executive produce. Sounds like fun. Moving on…. • Hit-Monkey tells the tale of a wronged Japanese snow monkey, mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts a wide swath through the Tokyo underworld in this darkly cinematic and brutally funny revenge saga. Writers Josh Gordon and Will
Aladdin Trailer: You Can’t Unsee The Will Smith Genie
We now know what Will Smith will look and sound like when he appears as Genie in Disney’s Aladdin remake. Are you truly ready? The big question hovering over this picture was who they could possibly get to replace the irreplaceable Robin Williams. It was later announced they had settled for Will Smith. Disney waited quite a long time to show us what that looks like. Last night, during the Grammys, they dared to give us our first look….and now we know why they were hiding Genie for so long. This is about the level of CGI we would see on “Once Upon A Time” when that was running. Some have compared Smith here to the Navi from Avatar, but the difference is, the Navi looked much more realistic by comparison. This floaty thing with a buff body, gigantic neck and plastic skin….well, he makes ME think of the CGI Dwayne Johnson that showed up in the climax of The Mummy Returns. It’s that bad. And the one line of

New Trailer For World War Z — The Game, We Mean
The movie World War Z came out at the peak of Zombie Mania and kinda got lost in the horde. It never set the world on fire, but many years later, it’s now going to be a game. Since the license isn’t as strong as it would have been years ago, developer Saber Interactive must prove their worth through gameplay. If World War Z is remembered for anything, it’s how many zombies the CGI workstations managed to render onscreen. Saber is using their own rig, the Swarm Engine, to generate as many zombies as possible with today’s real-time rendering chips. World War Z is predominantly a multiplayer experience. You can play the main four-player co-op, utiilzing six distinct classes and tons of weapons and traps in locations set around the world, from New York to Moscow. Or you can try out Players Vs. Players Vs. Zombies, sending you against the undead and other players in any of these five modes: Scavenge Raid: Players race to secure resources across the map to
Remembering James Ingram
On January 29th, 2019, James Ingram, one of my favorite singers, passed away from brain cancer. I’m a little late in paying tribute to him, but I wanted to do so because his work, as with so many musicians who were active in the 1980s, helped get me through some of the darkest times of my life. I’ve decided to choose five songs that James Ingram performed. Some of them were solos and others were duets or collaborations, but all in all, these songs inspired me and my writing. The first song I would like to mention is “Just Once”, one of his collaborations with Quincy Jones on Jones’ album The Dude. Famous for its’ usage in The Last American Virgin, the song is one of the most emotionally charged ballads of the 80s. We’ve all had relationships, whether romantic or platonic, that have gone off the rails and ended badly, and we’ve hoped against hope that we could redeem ourselves and make peace. Those are the emotions I get

The first hack and slash to take place in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world, Warhammer: Chaosbane plunges the player into

John Cena and JK Simmons will reprise their roles in Mortal Kombat 1
John Cena and J.K. Simmons are set to reprise their roles as Peacemaker and Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1. Just a month ago, Peacemaker, Omni-Man, and Homelander were announced as guest DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 1, joining returning favorites like Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda. In Mortal Kombat 11, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger lent their likenesses during their prime to portray the Terminator and Rambo. While these DLCs were well-received and popular in tournaments, they were not voiced by the actors who provided their likenesses. Peacemaker and Omniman in Kombat pack one This time, however, J.K. Simmons, known for his role as Omni-Man in Invincible, will be lending his voice to his iconic supervillain character from the controversial Amazon Prime animated series. John Cena, originally playing Homelander in the Suicide Squad film, gained immense popularity and even secured his own TV series, which has been renewed for a second season. This unexpected success has led some to view Cena’s DC comic run as surpassing Dwayne Johnson’s portrayal
Hiboka at Play NYC | Flying Carpets Games on Malagasy Folklore Inspired Survival Horror Indie Game
We recently hit Play NYC, a New York based convention that highlights local video game and tabletop game developers. We spoke with Salim Larochelle of Flying Carpets Games on his studio’s upcoming survival horror game, Hiboka. Hiboka is the spirit underworld of Malagasy folklore. The game features two playable characters. The first playable character is Alexandre Leblanc, a wealthy teenage boy grieving the loss of his mother. The second is Ramala Fifaliana, a Malagasy girl Alexandre encounters during his search to find the entrance to Hiboka. Together, they hope to uncover the truth behind the cursed Sanatry Mansion. PopGeeks: Tell us about Hiboka. Salim Larochelle on Hiboka: Alright. So, Hiboka is a survival horror game based on the folklore of Madagascar. So, it’s about the fairy tales of Madagascar, the creatures of that area of the world. It plays a lot like old-fashioned survival horror games on the PS2, like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, that kind of game. It takes place in another era, 1942, where people are trapped inside a mansion in the
