Saviorless Available Now For Consoles And PC
Publisher Dear Villagers and indie game developer Empty Head Games have introduced a new dark fantasy Metroidvania to the market, Saviorless. The game is live now on PS5, Switch and PC and sports an interesting hand-drawn art style — but it’s from a region of the world we don’t typically see art from. In the three simultaneous roles of Antar, the mysterious masked Savior, and rabbit-like friend Nento, you will journey through a land seemingly named ironically (“the Smiling Islands”). It’s now full of monsters, but you’re full of magic, so we’ll see who triumphs over who. Are the islands truly saviorless or can the trio bring peace to the land again? There’s an interesting story behind this game — it is, technically, the first indie video game ever produced in the country of Cuba to be released globally. “Despite initial success and support, the team faced setbacks due to political tensions, budget constraints, game name trademark conflict, and the loss of a key member,” the press release states. “However,
My Hero Academia Season 7 Begins May 4
Last time on My Hero Academia, Class 1A faced their most unusual foe yet — Deku himself, who had gone all emo and sworn off his friends, believing he was so dangerous he had to go it alone. From the looks of things Season 7 will be a return to the typical rogues gallery…but that doesn’t mean it’ll be any easier. A trailer for Season 7 was released this week, which premieres May 4. If you need a refresher as to what happened previously, Crunchyroll is simulcasting My Hero Academia: Memories, a four-part clip series meant to recap every event in the series thus far. It started running this week and will debut its other three parts in the weeks leading up to the premiere. Season 7 of My Hero Academia stars mostly the same Japanese voices: Daiki Yamashita as Izuku Midoriya Nobuhiko Okamoto as Katsuki Bakugo Ayane Sakura as Ochaco Uraraka Kaito Ishikawa as Tenya Ida Yuki Kaji as Shoto Todoroki Toshiki Masuda as Eijiro Kirishima Marina Inoue as
Blade Runner RPG: Fiery Angels Is Out Now
The first expansion to Free League’s Blade Runner The Roleplaying Game is officially out. Fiery Angels is the name, and it’s listed as “Case File 02” because the scenario included with the base game, Electric Dreams, is considered Case File 01. There will be a Case File 03 at some point. Says Free League, “This new investigation starts off with the Blade Runners assigned to question a suspect arrested while trying to infiltrate the Wallace Corporation Memory Vaults. The case leads the team down a perilous path that explores the boundaries of Replicant technology and its consequences. The player characters need to contend with an array of physical, mental, and moral challenges.” This scenario was written by Tomas Härenstam and Joe LeFavi (lead designers of Blade Runner RPG) and illustrated by Martin Grip, David Brasgalla, and Eelco Sebring. Fiery Angels comes in a big box set with all these things inside: A beautifully illustrated and detailed scenario book with locations, characters, events, and leads to follow. Eleven handouts, including a
MaXXXine, the 3rd film in the X trilogy
MaXXXine is the 3rd film of the𝕏 movie. Series. Writer Ti West returns to finish the trilogy he envisioned. This sequel stars Mia Goth, Giancarlo Esposito, Elizabeth Debicki, Kevin Bacon and Halsey. The first film, set in the 1970s, focuses on Maxine Minx, a porn actress who travels to a small town with a filming crew to shoot an adult content movie. Everything goes smoothly until an old lady named Pearl notices that Maxine bears an uncanny resemblance to her own younger self. Jealousy drives Pearl to go psycho, resulting in the murder of the film’s stars and crew. In the prequel, “Pearl,” we witness Pearl as a naive, young, and beautiful woman with dreams of becoming an actress. Rejection sends her spiraling into madness, ultimately leading her to embark on a murderous spree. What I find impressive in the first two films is that Maxine, Younger Pearl, and Older Pearl are all portrayed by Mia Goth. These three characters feel like distinct individuals despite being played by the same
The 2nd Trailer of Abigail shows how dangerous this dancing Vampire is
Abigail went viral on social media when the first trailer was released because of the M3GAN comparisons. I mean the concept of a Vampire Ballerina that kills people while dancing sounds crazy and camp. Close to its release this coming, a 2nd trailer got released. The first trailer is more campy and meme material but this 2nd trailer will make you take Abigail’s threat level more seriously. Alisha Weir who was the lead actress of Netflix’s remake of Matilda shows a different side of her in this movie. The Cute little girl from that Musical becomes a ferocious yet graceful beast with Blood Bath. She is only 14 years old but she looks like a serious threat to these adults who are supposed to be armed criminals. Abigail stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, and Gian Carlo Esposito, and it’s the final movie of Angus Cloud before he died young age of 25. The Film centers around a group of hired goons who got task to Kidnap the daughter of a powerful underground figure. Kidnapping a little
10 Highly Addictive Korean Dramas to Watch on Netflix
Netflix is holding its spot as the preferred GO-TO streaming platform for Korean dramas, even though there’s a lot of competition (per Collider.com). Subscribers searching for K-dramas can easily be overwhelmed by the broad selection of movies and TV series available on this streaming platform; especially, if you’re a newbie or beginner. How Netflix Became the Go-to Streamer for K-Dramas | Collider Best Streaming Services for K-Dramas – CNET The first thing you need to know about watching K-dramas is The Great Divide, i.e. historical period and non-historical or modern-day. Below is my two-part watch list. There are certain genres that I’m not too fond of such as horror and sci-fi. My recommendations don’t include those genres. Even so, Netflix has many Korean movies and TV series in those genres. It’s just that you’ll have to search for them on your own. LOL. ♦ 4 Historical Period K-dramas on Netflix for Newbies (1) 100 Days My Prince (2018) A crown prince survives an assassination attempt but loses his memory in
Legally Blonde TV Series in the works
“Legally Blonde” is one of Reese Witherspoon‘s most iconic films. It serves as an inspiration to every college student, emphasizing that no one is unintelligent if they apply themselves diligently. In the first film, Elle Woods reigns as the queen bee of her sorority, enjoying immense popularity. Excelling in fashion, she hails from a family of celebrities, and her boyfriend comes from a political dynasty. However, when her boyfriend dumps her for being too blonde and seeks a more sophisticated partner to support his political ambitions, Elle decides to pursue him to Harvard. Her goal is to prove to him that she possesses the qualities he seeks. Despite being initially underestimated due to her appearance, Elle discovers her true intelligence through hard work and determination. Rather than chasing after someone who rejects her, she realizes her self-worth and pursues a genuine interest in law at Harvard. Notably, the film subverts stereotypes by depicting the cheerleader as the victim of bullying by the nerds. As for the box office earnings
House of Villains Season 2 cast revealed
The House of Villains Season 2 has been announced and it’s coming this fall. Last year, E! hit the jackpot with the reality show House of Villains, where the most infamous villains from various reality shows live in the same house and compete to be the ultimate villain. Some villains joined to prove they are the biggest villain and win the prize, while others want to show their other side, that they are not as bad as their original edits depict. The show reminds me a bit of Big Brother and The Traitors, but everyone has a bad reputation. Some reality TV show villains are not bad people per se; they are victims of editing. Moreover, isolation, hunger, and stress can change people’s attitudes. Many reality TV contestants actually develop PTSD. A new Batch of Villains will compete and a returning familiar face from Season 1 will also return. The Trailer looks like scripted mock audition as the show is not yet filming by the time the trailer is shot.
IMDb Ratings | Highest Rated Korean Dramas of 2023
People often refer to IMDb ratings and rankings before choosing a movie or TV series to watch. I don’t often agree with IMDb. But like many others, I check them anyway for the Korean dramas that I watch and review because it’s a good quick reference tool. Lifestyle Asia is a reputable entertainment site and they published the Highest-rated K-dramas of 2023 ranked according to IMDb that are absolutely binge-worthy. But before diving into their list, below is a quote taken from the article, in case you’ve always wondered. -Who determines IMDb ratings? Critics’ votes, audience reviews and the overall box office performance of a title determine the IMDb rating. However, some titles may not be commercially successful and yet receive high critical praise and garner high ratings on IMDb. The vice versa is also seen. ♦♦ Below is the list published via Lifestyle Asia Lifestyle Asia’s list includes nineteen (19) K-dramas, released in 2023, with ratings of 7 out of 10 stars or higher. Durian’s Affair: Merciful Buddha Answered Our Prayers
“Durian’s Affair” is a Korean drama series, released in 2023, with 16 episodes, and categorized as a Time Travel, Romance, Historical, and Fantasy or Supernatural. ♦ Would You Like to See How Your Prayers were Answered? In “Durian’s Affair”, the main characters are two noble ladies from Joseon who were faithful Buddhists and believed in reincarnation. The two men in their lives whom they loved dearly were both murdered. They were powerless to bring the murderer to justice. They believed that prayer had divine power, so they prayed. Did they pray for justice? No. What was their prayer? The women prayed to Buddha that the two men they loved would be reborn and in their rebirth they would live much better lives than they had lived in Joseon. Never in a million years did either noble lady believe that hundreds of years later, they would physically see with their own eyes, that their prayers had been answered. They just prayed, believed, and hoped their prayer would be answered. To see
What Time Is It? Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game
Adventure Time takes so much inspiration from D&D that you might wonder why it took THIS long for someone to literally put the two things together. Who knows, but it’s finally happened. Cryptozoic has launched a Kickstarter campaign for an official Adventure Time Roleplaying Game that is 5E compatible. How one plays this game is basically identical to how one plays regular D&D…there’s no gameplay reinvention here, nor would there really need to be. At the same time, it’s not just an Adventure Time skin for a D&D module. There’s the core rulebook, Prismo’s Guide To Adventures In Ooo, that establishes the setting and character roles. There are Twist Cards that will introduce random new plot elements to deal with. There are twenty species with twelve subclasses, adventure prompt tables and more. Higher tiers will receive the Adventure Book as a bonus, that contains one major quest to venture into….and some Jake-shaped dice. While Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game is fine for players of all skill levels, this product actually
