Shakedown Hawaii Getting A Wii And Wii U Release
Last year VBlank Entertainment released Shakedown Hawaii, their sequel to the nutty 80s-themed Retro City Rampage…a top-down shooter adventure modeled after the first GTA game and flavored with endless 8-bit gamer in jokes. Shakedown Hawaii, released in 2019, is more of the same but with more options. Last year VBlank released Shakedown Hawaii on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and PC. They’re working on the rest of the platforms, but before they ever get to XBox One, they want to make sure they get it on Wii first. No, we’re not kidding. VBlank has announced both Wii and Wii U releases for Shakedown Hawaii, and they’re physical ones to boot. In the case of Wii, it’s their only choice — its digital marketplace was shut down in January of 2019. In fact, you can’t even print a Wii disc in North America anymore…but you still can in Europe, so VBlank went with that. 3,000 PAL copies of Shakedown Hawaii will be made available for Wii on Thursday,
New Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer And Info
The good news is we got another Cyberpunk 2077 trailer today. The bad news is, it doesn’t market the game quite as well as the last few have. If this was the first look we ever got at Cyberpunk 2077, we would think the game must be some kind of first-person low-rent GTA clone. The below two minutes are nothing but wall-to-wall sex and violence, urban tough guys, guns and foul language. EDGY, BRO! i know this is set in the future, but we feel like we’ve been transported back in video game history at least ten years. CDPR says, though, that everything we’re seeing is merely from the game’s prologue. All this happens in the first few minutes? The man in the mirror is V, the cyborg outlaw you’ll be controlling in the game. And we saw a lot more of the ACTUAL game in the livestream CDPR held after the trailer’s reveal. They showed off a new feature called a BD, or a “brain dance,” that’s adapted directly
Chuck E Cheese Files For Bankruptcy Protection
If 2020 had an official slogan, it would be “Where A Kid Can’t Be A Kid.” Children right now can’t get together with friends, climb on playgrounds, or see theater movies, and when all this settles down, they may not be able to go to Chuck E Cheese either. CEC Entertainment, the company that runs most locations of the Chuck E franchise as well as a smaller chain called Peter Piper Pizza, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. That doesn’t mean they’re gone but it does mean they’re more likely to go in the near future. Some readers may recall a weird news story making the rounds a couple months ago where a new pizza joint named “Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings” was offering food delivery. Those with encyclopedic knowledge of Chuck E lore immediately recognized Pasqually as the only human member of Munch’s Make-Believe Band. It was indeed Chuck E Cheese under an incognito name (maybe they should’ve picked a better one). And now we know what drove such
Could There Someday Be A Scott Pilgrim Animated Series?
This week, EW.com published an excellent interview with Edgar Wright, the director of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. 2020 marks the tenth anniversary of the cult classic film, which lost at the box office to a stale Stallone movie yet has grown in popularity in the years since. Wright was joined by the lead actors from the movie: Michael Cera as Scott, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee and others. There are a lot of interesting facts revealed in this interview — the movie is packed with folks who would become stars, to the point that Wright actually had to turn away people fated to be famous…Rooney Mara, Betty Gilpin and Zoe Kazan all shot auditions. The most interesting thing we learned, though, is that they’re thinking of bringing Scott back — but in a new form. “There’s some plans — and there’s nothing official yet — but there are some plans to revisit the material in an animation way,” confesses Wright. “We’ve been talking
Max Reload And The Nether Blasters Lands On VOD This August
Actor Greg Grunberg stars in the fan passion project Max Reload And The Nether Blasters, coming to VOD platforms later this summer. Fallout Games is your typical small-time independent retro game store in a strip mall. It lives or dies based on its stock. So when the store clerk gets his hands on one of the rarest cartridges of all time, the (fictional) Nether Dungeon for the ColecoVision, he’s over the moon. This will surely make them thousands! ….But he’s gotta play it first. What he didn’t know was that there’s a reason just one copy of Nether Dungeon exists…the cart is cursed and haunted. Enemies from the game start attacking the strip mall and possessed people with glowing eyes begin showing up. The only thing that can stop them are the tools of the game — the zapper gun, mainly. Does the four-member staff of Fallout Games have what it takes to level up in the REAL world? Max Reload And The Nether Blasters stars Tom Plumley, Greg Grunberg,
Rogue Legacy 2 Enters Early Access July 23
One month from now, we will know what Rogue Legacy 2 is like…an early version of it, at least. The first trailer appeared online today. The original Rogue Legacy was a big hit, released by Cellar Door Games in 2013. Its addictive gimmick expanded on the roguelike formula by rebooting your character each time they perish. Not only were the environments different, but so was your guy. Rogue Legacy 2 will build upon this formula with revisions both in gameplay and in visuals. The original used pixel art, but the sequel will bump things up to high-res knights roaming through 2-D backgrounds of hand-drawn art. And this time when you lose a character, you’ll get to play as one of three descendants…who won’t all be the same. Not everyone will have a sword….some will wield axes or shoot arrows from bows. Some types of characters will have extra talents or powers. They’ll also have diverse personality traits. If you don’t like what you get, jump off a cliff and regenerate,
Michael Keaton Could Reprise Batman In Flash Movie
Tim Burton’s Batman was revolutionary when it was first released in 1989, by virtue of simply being a comic book movie that took its universe seriously. The public perception of comics at the time was that they were childish, goofy and stupid, and previous TV and film adaptations did nothing to dispel that belief. But here was Michael Keaton, dressed in black, the coolest man in the world, growling “AH’M BATMAANNN”….the world would never be the same. Those who experienced the Keaton Batman under this context will always have a soft spot for him, which is why it’s great news that he could be reprising the role in an upcoming DC movie. It’s great until you think about it for a second or two…”wait a minute, what? Isn’t he a bit…old?” Keaton isn’t exactly reprising THE Batman. He’ll be appearing as A Batman….probably the ’89 one, but many years later. You see, this is a movie based around The Flash, and if you watch the CW series, you know the
Microsoft Pulls The Plug On Mixer
Remember Mixer? That game streaming platform Microsoft was aggressively pushing as an alternative to Twitch, that felt more like the next Bing? Our gut feelings were correct…the thing just Binged itself. Mixer had the corporate lifespan of a fly, taking off from out of nowhere in 2016 under the name Beam. Microsoft bought it in 2017 and promoted it endlessly through 2018 and 2019, in the usual Microsoft manner of throwing money with wild abandon. Some of Twitch’s most popular streamers like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins were lured to Mixer with exclusive million-dollar contracts. Phil Spencer, head of XBox, admitted to the press they decided Mixer was a lost cause six months ago, but couldn’t announce its demise until they’d arranged a partner to hand off operations and accounts to. “We weren’t going to be continuing with Mixer as it was,” he told Polygon, “and we wanted to find a partner for us who had a similar worldview on how gaming can evolve and the impact it could have, and a
Meet Min Min, The Newest Smash Bros Fighter
Several months ago, Super Smash Bros. boss Masahiro Sakurai promised the first Smash fighter in the second DLC pack would be from the Switch game ARMS….but he never elaborated beyond that. Months of speculation later, the fighter was revealed at 7 AM this morning as….Min Min, the ramen-themed one. If you feel let down, you’re not alone (I myself was pushing for Twintelle), but Sakurai confessed Min Min wasn’t his original choice. He was actually leaning toward Ninjara, but the producer of ARMS told him “I want Min Min.” Sakurai didn’t necessarily have to obey, but he liked the suggestion. Min Min’s immediate obvious advantage is in long-range combat. With her extendable arms she can hit an opponent from clear across the arena. To make up for this, though, she’s not very skilled at close-range fighting, and terrible at hitting opponents in the air. If you have to face Min Min, stay airborne as much as possible. Her weakness is so strong that the long-range attacks can usually be dodged
Watch The New Trailer For Sea Of Stars
Last March, Sabotage Studio — makers of the retro Ninja Gaiden-inspired platformer The Messenger — announced their new project. Sea of Stars is a pseudo-sequel set in the same world, but it plays somewhat differently. While The Messenger was an intended tribute to action-oriented 8-bit platformers, Sea of Stars is an RPG that takes its inspiration from 16-bit epics like Chrono Trigger. Sabotage launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the game, and ended up raking in $1,628,126 Canadian dollars. Here’s what the fruits of their labor have produced so far…a new Summer Game Fest trailer with new gameplay footage: Engaging turn-based combat. Combat gameplay includes active player input during attack animations (timed hits), multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and strategic defense options to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells. For a more immersive experience, there are no random encounters or transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding. Both navigation and combat happen in the same environment. Unshackled traversal. Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges
Miraculous Brothers: Time Travel Miracle Solves Hidden Crime
“Miraculous Brothers” is a Korean drama series released in 2023. The two main characters ~ Yook Dong-Joo and Lee Kang San ~ meet each other by accident. But perhaps the accident that brought them together was actually a miracle. This series has 16 episodes that keep viewers thoroughly engaged. ♦ Can Lightning Cause a Miracle? “Miraculous Brothers” begins with a young man being chased. Some people are chasing after a young man and he is running for his life. The night is dark, it’s raining, and just as lightning strikes he runs into the street and gets hit by a car. Columbia Sportswear To Sell Luke Skywalker’s Flight Suit
Real-world recreations of Star Wars outfits are nothing new (just ask the cosplay community) but few efforts go as elaborate as what Columbia Sportswear is trying. They’re introducing the SkyWalker Pilot Collection, inspired by the flight suit Luke wore at various points during the Star Wars trilogy, Empire Strikes Back specifically. The collection consists of nine pieces, including the bright orange Pilot Ski Suit, the Ski Jacket, a pair of snow goggles, a lightweight version of the jacket, a pullover, long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts, a fanny pack and a ball cap. To promote the line, Columbia has paid off NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace to wear some of these things on the track, as well as drive around in a No. 23 car design inspired by the Red Five X-Wing Starfighter. The Skywalker Pilot Ski Suit (MSRP: $500) – A special-edition one-piece ski suit inspired by Luke Skywalker’s iconic flight suit and built for epic snow days with Omni-Tech waterproof breathable fabric, ski pass pocket and thermal reflective lining. And Star Wars fans will
