RPG Maker MZ Preorders Now Open
We promised we’d tell you when more details were released for RPG Maker MZ. Today we found out a lot….about the preorder program. You might find it unusual for a creativity tool to trade in the kind of “give money now, get free stuff” deal normally reserved for actual video games, but the creators at KADOKAWA Co and DEGICA Co have really embraced it. If you preorder RPG Maker MZ, the software will cost $71.99 — ten percent off the planned retail price. But that’s not all…they’ll throw in a free copy of the previous RPG Maker model, RPG Maker MV, and they’ll sweeten THAT deal with the Character Generator Pack and the MV and MZ Remix Music Pack (both for MZ). For anyone who doesn’t own RPG Maker yet, this is a genius tactic…most newcomers would prefer to wait for the new version anyway, so why not throw in the old version and give them something to do? The preorder program goes far enough to use the “Super Deluxe
McFarlane Toys Unveils RAW10 Creature Line
Todd McFarlane has made quite a name for himself not just as a comic book artist, but as a toy designer. The McFarlane Toys brand always attracts an audience of collectors, which is why they’ll be surprised to learn to get Todd’s latest line of creatures, they’ll have to beat a path to….Wal-Mart. Todd is aiming at a wider audience with this one. RAW10 is a line of figures designed for both kids and adults, which will come with its own accompanying online comic series fleshing out its lore. (If this were 1993, they would have their own syndicated cartoon show for that purpose.) What’s RAW10? In-universe, it’s the name of the secret laboratory that conducted illegal experiments to create a fearsome army to conquer the world. Part beast and part robot, these animal cyborgs pack awesome power and plenty of McFarlane ‘tude, but they want nothing to do with the evil scientists who created them…they’re now trying to save the world from RAW10. The figures include CY-GOR the gorilla,

Yakuza: Like A Dragon Launches November 2020
Sega’s Yakuza series has steadily grown in popularity to become one of its most popular running game franchises, which I’m sure is a relief for those who can remember having to beg the company for an English version of earlier releases. Its biggest title yet, Like A Dragon, was fully revealed today: the voice cast, the special features, the price and release window. AND a shiny new trailer. Let’s get to the voice cast first. This is what we mean…six years ago, Sega would simply not have bothered the expense to fly in George Takei for the English dub: Kaiji Tang as Ichiban Kasuga, protagonist of the story returning from 18 years spent in prison George Takei as Masumi Arakawa, patriarch of the Arakawa Family Andrew Morgado as Koichi Adachi, an ex-cop on the search for truth Greg Chun as Yu Nanba, downtrodden former nurse making amends with the world Elizabeth Maxwell as Saeko Mukoda, a bar hostess on a mission The first print run of Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Zack Snyder’s Justice League Will Exist In His Own Continuity
As you know, Warner Bros. has finally bowed to demand and agreed to put the Snyder Cut of Justice League into production. It’s an undertaking of great expense, with some estimates putting the re-edit at $60 million — and it may be released in pieces as a result. WB hasn’t decided exactly how they’re going to roll out this version of the film but they do know it’s premiering on their new streaming service HBO Max. It’s not as simple as firing up the Moviola. Special effects have to be redone, CGI backgrounds have to be re-rendered, and in some cases the original actors have to be brought back in to film additional scenes. Those guys don’t work cheap! Whenever the Snyder Cut is finally assembled and complete, one question would have hung in the air: which cut of Justice League is canon? …It would have hung in the air, that is, if Snyder hadn’t already answered it. Speaking with Beyond The Trailer on YouTube, Snyder confirmed that his Justice
Ghost of Tsushima works with Real Life Tsushima Island tourism board for a tourism campaign
The Past pop culture had influenced Japanese tourists on where to spend their vacation. The 1970’s Anime adaptation of the classic novel Heidi made many Japanese tourists visit the German Alps. The Hit Anime Attack on Titan increased the number of Japanese tourists who visited the Nordlingen walled city in Germany because the setting of the anime was inspired by that ancient city that has been around since the Roman Empire and the middle ages. The international tourist had been influenced by pop culture as well. Game of Thrones made many of its fans visit Croatia, Northern Ireland, Iceland, and Spain where the show was filmed. Most Tourist that visits New Zealand are fans of Lord of the Rings. Now history may repeat but instead of a movie or TV show, a video game will influence people to visit one of the most underrated places in Japan. The Game Ghost of Tsushima may not only attract Japanese tourists to visit their country’s very own Tsushima Island, but visitors from around

Retro FPS Hellbound Comes To Steam August 4
Back when the first person shooter was a young genre, there was only one rule: if it moves, shoot it. That basic approach was what made 90s shooters like Doom and Quake such mindless fun, and the spiritual successor Hellbound, from the devoted Doom fans at Saibot Studios, is ready to take the mantle. You play Hellgore, a trash-taking muscle man who finds himself in hell (where else) and aims to bust out the only way he knows how — by annihilating everything in his path! First announced two years ago and funded on Kickstarter, the game has been teased through several demos. Saibot is now wrapping up Hellbound with the help of developers Nimble Giant, who created arena shooter Quantum League. “We’ve learned a lot since the demo’s release, and have fueled that into the creation of a full-fledged campaign that will test players’ mettle as they carve their way through demons as fast as they can! Speed is the name of the game in Hellbound,” says Tobias Rusjan
Marvel’s Avengers War Table Digital Stream Broadcasts July 29
Last month, Square Enix livestreamed what they deemed the first Marvel’s Avengers War Table. It was a chance for followers of the upcoming online multiplayer game to watch live gameplay footage and learn new info. The first War Table revealed the identity of the game’s big villain (it’s MODOK) and explained how team missions, called War Zones, would work. If you missed it, we’ve embedded it below. Now the second War Table has been scheduled….on July 29 the team will assemble again. This time we’ll find out what awaits in the upcoming Beta Program. “Fans can anticipate several exclusive new videos that will dive deep into the content that will be included in the beta,” says Square, “as well as insight about the design and creation of Marvel’s Avengers. Attentive viewers may also spot hidden details inserted to whet their appetite for future content and announcements.” Don’t you need a preorder to take part in the Beta? Only if you want to be first. Those who plunk money down for
The Tin20, Foldable Metal Dice, Now Available On Kickstarter
Picture this scenario: you and your friends are settling down for an epic night of D&D adventuring when you realize the D20 dice are missing. Did they roll under the couch? Nope…just dust bunnies under there. You could have sworn they were in the box the last time you saw them. What do you do now? Fortunately, one of your friends announces they always carry a spare…and they reach for their wallet. How could they fit a set of D20 dice in such a flat space? With the Tin20…a new invention currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter. It’s a small sheet of thin metal through which you can quickly punch out, fold in and assemble a D20 die. The creators of the Tin20, who refer to themselves as just Joel and Dave, say “[We] were driving back from picking up a 3D printer when we started discussing “laser cutting” on higher-end printers. That gave me the the idea of designing dice shapes which you could fold and use at the gaming
Finally, A Game Controller You Can Eat
Microsoft just announced a game controller made entirely out of chocolate. It’s about time, right? But wait a minute….is such a thing functional? Sadly, no. And alas, even if it was, it would quickly melt in your lap and create a sticky mess. Be careful what you wish for, I guess. The chocolate controller’s true purpose is to promote a movie — Warner Bros’ Wonka, due out later this year. The question of whether or not a prequel to the beloved 1971 classic is necessary is best left for an article about the film itself. This is about a chocolate XBox. But it’s not a commercial product — you won’t find it under the tree, even if you’ve been good. The only way you can get the chocolate XBox controller is to win a contest, just like Charlie Bucket had to do to get inside Wonka’s factory. Entry requires following the official XBox account on Twitter and retweeting the post hyping the contest. This means the Veruca Salts of the
Rebel Moon Part One Coming To Netflix In December
Netflix has had a lot of projects in the fire lately, but this is the big one — their most ambitious offering of 2023, premiering nine days before the end of the year itself. It’s ridiculously expensive, carrying a price tag of $166 million for the production of two films (this is just Part One). We may be nearing the end of the age when streamers will spend Infinity Dollars on one project, but Rebel Moon is quite a loud way to go out. However, will it be good? No one knows yet (though the Snyder Bros seem convinced). The story is that Zack Snyder wanted to make a Star Wars movie in his usual grim and gritty style, but Disney rejected his pitch, so he decided to just remove the copyrighted elements and produce it as something original. The big trailer for Part One was unveiled today and “a Snyder Cut of Star Wars” is exactly what comes to mind when you watch it. Rebel Moon has: explosions, war
