Ova Magica Kickstarter Launches On Steam
Cross Pokemon with Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons and you’d get something like Ova Magica, the farming and monster training RPG coming to consoles and PC next year.
Created by one developer in Germany (ClaudiaTheDev), Ova Magica casts you as a new arrival to the rustic community of Clover. You’ve got an overgrown lot to spruce up, but it seems to be infested with small living, bouncing blobs. One might consider that to be a problem, but not if you can put the blobs to work for you. Take care of the monsters you find on your farm and they’ll help you with day-to-day chores, protect you on quests for rare materials, and other things. The protagonist of Stardew Valley never had assistants like this!
-
Blob Breeding & Training: Ova Magica adds a twist to the farm-sim genre by combining it with a comfy creature raising sim! These cute blob creatures come in over 80 types, and can be cross-bred together to create an almost infinite combination of new blobs. Love them well, and pay attention to their favourite foods and habits to ensure they grow strong.
-
Farming: Build, run, and expand the farm of your dreams. Farming is normally hard work but it doesn’t have to be in Ova Magica; treat your blobs well, and with their help you can grow everything from normal crops, to heart fruit, and mushrooms from other dimensions!
-
City Building & Progression: You can lend a hand to Clover’s community by sharing in the success of your farm! Helping others is important, and you can pitch in to help put up new buildings, take part in community initiatives, and unlock new things to do throughout the town.
Ova Magica’s Kickstarter launched today and it’s pretty affordable as crowdfunded games go….you can guarantee a digital copy for just a $25 pledge (the PC version is DRM free). The Extended Digital Edition, which includes a digital artbook, soundtrack and wallpapers, can be had for a $43 pledge. If you’re after a physical copy, one is being offered for Switch at a $67 pledge.
The Ova Magica Kickstarter is only a few hours old and has already doubled its funding goal. The campaign will be open until February 26. Get your copy through this link.
