NYCC: Milla Jovovich Promises End To Story
The Resident Evil movie series appears to be coming to an end with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. At New York Comic Con, the cast and crew unveiled a brand new trailer for the film, and talked about there will be an end to the story.
“It’s a return to the very beginning of the franchise, Raccoon City, or what’s left of it after we dropped a bomb on it in the second film,” said director Paul Anderson. “It’s a return to The Hive for Alice, where it all started, and this is where we find out the truth about [her].”
“This movie will have a level of emotional engagement that will be surprising for a Resident Evil movie,” he said.
Anderson also noted that filmmakers are fools if they make video game movies without playing the games first:
“This movie was made by people who genuinely adored the videogame,” he said. “And we knew what it was. And I’m still shocked by people who make movies of videogames and say, I’ve never seen the game. The level of hubris… You would never make a film of War and Peace and not read the book.”
Anderson’s wife, Milla Jovovich stated after hearing this “You are going to get ripped apart tomorrow!”
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will release in January.
