Daredevil kicked off the lineup of Netflix Marvel TV shows that has had some great highs (this show, season 1 of Jessica Jones) and lows (Iron Fist, the anticlimax that was Defenders). Having successfully washed the disastrous Ben Affleck adaptation out of everyone’s memory, what’s the Man Without Fear’s next move?
That depends on which Daredevil we’re talking about. Matt Murdock is baffled to hear that a doppleganger of himself is running around Hell’s Kitchen committing crimes. Since the public doesn’t know there are two, Daredevil finds himself framed. He’s got to figure out not only who is impersonating him, but who else might be behind it.
It doesn’t take long to put two and two together when he finds out Wilson Fisk, AKA the Kingpin, has escaped from prison. Kingpin has orchestrated the public shaming of Daredevil as an act of revenge. As for the copycat’s identity, Netflix says he goes by the name “Benjamin Poindexter”…which comics fans will recognize as one of the aliases of Bullseye.
It’s all too much for one ordinary lawyer to handle…if he weren’t also a superhero. The third season of Daredevil premieres on Netflix October 19.
