DC Comics in and of itself is not a sole entity in regards to comic universes. In fact, it’s had several imprints under its name over the years. However, when the New 52 was born, it fused the DC universe, the Wildstorm universe and the Vertigo universe into one entity. That allowed characters like John Constantine, Grifter, Swamp Thing, Voodoo, and more to become mainstays of the universe.
But recently, DC Comics have been rebuilding the universes they once combined. The Wildstorm Universe was recently reborn, and now, at NYCC, Dan Didio revealed that Vertigo is next on the list. And it will be relaunched in 2018 under the guidance of Mark Doyle, who is an Executive Editor for DC.
