Nintendo's "Quality Of Life" Device Revealed?
Recently, over the last few years to be precise, Nintendo has focused not only on making games, but making games that help the gamer as well. This includes mind testing games like Brain Age, physical activity games like Wii Sports, Wii Fit, and more. A new initiative that came from these products was called the “Quality of Life” division at Nintendo, but no one knew exactly what would come out of it. Now, a Patent has been found citing the Quality of Life brand from Nintendo, and it seems to indicate what they might be going for.
The description from the patent reads: “This information processing system comprises a portable terminal,” which “detects sensor information for assessing a user’s emotions.” The device is designed to “assesses the user’s emotions on the basis of the sensor information,” and is detected when the terminal is in standby mode.
The patent also notes that “it would be permissible, as an example, for the sensor information to be sound information which is detected by a microphone, or image information which is captured by a camera.”
Furthermore, the sensors on the Quality of Life device will detect the users heart rate, pulse, temperature, and then calculate a sleep score for them to see. Not much else is know about the device, but it does seem to fit the mold Nintendo has been setting since the Wii and DS. We will have to see when more details arrive.
