Nintendo Getting Attractions At Universal Theme Parks!
Video games have always strived to be larger than life, whether in story, looks, gameplay, tone, etc., at its core, games are meant to grab an audience and connect with them on numerous levels. This is one of the reason Nintendo is so popular today, as their titles arguably are the best at engaging audiences.
Well, now, Nintendo is going to take that to the next logical step, theme parks! Nintendo and Universal announced today that they are partnering up to bring the characters of Nintendo’s vast library to their theme parks, “creating spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds.”
Now at present, there isn’t much in the way of details as to what people can expect from this collaboration attraction wise…but let’s speculate shall we? Easily the biggest names for Nintendo are Mario and Link (from Legend of Zelda), so those two are definitely getting attractions.
I could easily see a platforming area where people have to do as Mario did in his games and jump, smash, hammer, shoot fireballs, collect coins, and more to get through the “level”. Whereas for Link, I could see a fun area where you get to use his vast array of tools to complete challenges and tasks. The sky is the limit, or maybe in this case…the imagination is the limit.
Needless to say, this is a HUGE move for Nintendo, who has been making big steps and partnerships to grow its brand. No doubt this will be a step forward in doing so.
