New Middle-Eastern Character Added To Street Fighter V
You know Ken and Ryu, and Guile and Cammy…Blanka and Dhalsim and Bison and Chun-Li….but do you recall the most Arabic Street Fighter of all?
Capcom unveiled Rashid the White-Turbanned Street Fighter a few days ago. The new character was revealed, fittingly enough, at a video game show in Dubai, called “Games15.” In addition to his turban and his Saiyan power scouter, Rashid packs some formidable wind-based powers. He can not only shoot wind at his opponents, he can even whip up hurricanes. His Critical Art will be a gigantic hurricane that lifts his foes helplessly into the air, leaving them open for a giant kick.
There was a leak earlier in the year that supposedly revealed three new characters for this game. No one knew at the time if there was any truth to it, but it did mention Rashid, as well as a Brazilian fighter named Laura and a character named Zen from India. Now that the cover has been blown off Rashid, it raises the possibility the other two are also real, but no one can say for certain yet.
Street Fighter V, which will be a Playstation exclusive, does not have a release date in any territory yet, but it will be shown off at the Tokyo Game Show in a few days. We expect to learn more about multiple characters, including Rashid, there.
